I am pretty anal when it comes to detail.

Nice going. Looks grrrr8 doesn't it?!

Don't forget my caution from the other post about the diff bushes and protecting the axle boots. Also, you will need to unbolt the driveshaft from the diff. Make sure you torque them and lock-tite them. Mine worked loose.

10-28-2008, 05:38 PM
Thats why I am not rushing. Every single bolt is loc-tited and torqued. So far I have a little over 5 hours actual time so I am content other then not driving the car!

No more rainy day driving for me. I am only cleaning it like this once!

Damn, that looks good. From the pictures it almost looks like the suspension matches your paint color. I thought I was OCD about things. Clearly I have nothing on you.:theman:

LMAO! It is real a real close match as will be the calipers. I will leave the brackets silver and if I dont like it, I will paint them black.

All is well in Pedders land. The car rides awesome! Hopefully early next week I will have the springs/stuts in so I can take pics of the ride height. The rear looks killer!

can you see some of the components by looking at the rear of the car?

GRRRR8

At angles from the rear you see just about everything except some hidden bushings. Its obvious something has been done thats for sure.

The equipment and installation looks great! I'm sure the handling and track performance will be vastly improved. However, my G8 is my household's "family car". How was the comfort aspect of the ride affected? Will my wife and daughter be ready to kill me after a 6 hour road trip? At the very least I plan on the X-brace bushings. Should I stop there, or go all the way?

I am very impressed with the ride! I have been sick so I have not done the front yet, but the rear is firmer. I took it a long test dive and this is what I see so far: a little more feel to real bad bumps, taking a corner or sharp turns the car is remains flat, even if you push it it is extremely hard to make it lose control. Before if I whipped a corner fast, the car would be side ways. I have had 5 people counting myself and 100lbs of bowling equiptment and the car never bottomed out and actually rode better then it did before. I am very impressed with Pedders Track II and I just want to finish it so I can push the car to the MAX!

Well, Charlie, do you have the suspension complete? If so, how do you like it? Is the ride rough? noisy? etc? I am torn between the Street II and the Track II. I have another month or so before I pull the trigger...and you know me, I will use that time to research the HELL out of this stuff! LOL

Car is looking good, Charlie!

GRRRR8
11-17-2008, 10:49 AM
It is a bit stiffer as it should be. Not rough at all. My wife loves it! I have the front sway bar, frt lower control arm bushings and caster bushings and washers left and it will be 100% done and a alignment of course. If Track II is in the budget, GET IT!!

Did you install the strut tower bar? I liked it simply for cosmetic reasons if for no other reason...priorities! LOL

Ride quality is important to me as I drive 40 miles one way to work every day. Plus I live in BFE...translation: the roads suck.

Thanks for the 4-1-1 on the ride. You didnt steer me wrong on the exhaust...which I have gotten a number of complements on by the way!

I will keep you posted on what I end up doing...

Yes I did the STB when I did the springs/struts/mounts. Looks real good. I need to post pics again!

...how hard were the DIFF bushings? and any procedural tips for that install?

I will probably have one of my mechanic buddies help me with that anyway.

..thanks..

Not the easiest to remove. I had to make an adapter for my press. Install is cake.

looks great, i plan on having this kits installed in january by wretched motorsports and then the maggie myself, but i have some questions,
1. could the maggie still be installed with the Strut Tower Brace(STB) or would i have to remove it, if so how easy is it to remove and where can i get that info/
2. how much does it lower the car

GRRRR8

You dont have to lower it with Pedders. Not sure about the brace. If I had to guess I would say no.

I "think" Mike Haddad has a Pedders ST brace on his car. He has a maggie. Give Rob@ Wretched a call, he'll know.

ETA:
I just checked out Haddad's website and there are no pics of a STB on his car. After looking at the under-hood shots, I have to agree with Charlie, I don't think it would fit.

BMR makes a brace too. If this one won't fit theirs might as it mounts a bit differently.

i talked to mike haddad and he just tried it out/checked and said there is no way it could work without serious modification, but he said they have some BMR parts arriving, if those don't work an adaptor will need to be fabricated
