I have a 2009 V-6 G8 and that upper cubby is pretty useless (IMHO). I'm looking into installing a single DIN DVD\GPS (motorized screen) since it looks like there enough room in at least two of the 3 dimensions. So this is my question.
Does anyone have any measurements on how much distance there is behind that upper cubby? I'm hoping for enough to get a single DIN head unit in there. This photo from another thread shows the area in question but it's hard to tell.
I was thinking of the Dual XDVDN9131 (http://www.dualav.com/mobilevideo/xdvdn9131.php). The Chassis dimensions are: 7" x 7" x 2" so I'll need 7+ inches from the very front of the Cubby to anything behind it interferring.
I know there's the GPS in-dash mod but I'm trying to avoid that expense.
Any feedback would be appreciated.
