View Full Version : NE G8 Convoy to G.O.N.E.

I guess we all know that the National Meet planning is
going along very well, thanks to Joe Morgan.
We can start reserving rooms at the Isle Casino,
1777 Isle Pky, Bettendorf, IA now, so I think we
need to see who wants to get a convoy from
the North East set up.

I plan on leaving from Woodbury, CT early on
Wednesday morning the 18th and getting somewhere
between Elkhart/South Bend, IN by evening.

That is about 750 miles for me, with about 250 miles
left for Thursday morning.

I figure with pit stops and coordinating meeting points
along the way it will be about 14 hours on the road Weds.
and 4-5 on Thurs.

I have done some preliminary checking about hotels near
Elkhart/Southbend and there are quite a few.
Several have decent rooms in the $55-$65 range for
2 people if anyone wants to double up.

I know there are quite a few owners from NE planning
on attending so lets see who's up to convoy.

will you be hitting I-80W ? im leaving out of cleveland and would like to get a caravan going as well.

p.s. - im a huge boston bruins fan :)

For me it will be I-84 to Scranton, then I-81
for a little bit to I-80 for the rest of the way.
Looks like you're about 500 miles from the meet,
so you would probably want to do the whole trip
on Thursday.
I don't know if we can coordinate a meet up on the way.

Joe is the MAN! From talking to him, I know he's been working EXTREMELY hard to get this going to the best of his ability, and he is a very busy guy! He definitely deserves lots of kudos in getting all this together. His hard work is definitely paying off, and will benefit ALL of us!

I love the idea of a NE convoy but I was thinking about driving on Thursday...

Thanks Mario! I do have to apologize to everyone that things haven't fallen into place faster, but I'm doing this around working two jobs 60 hours per week. If folks show up and enjoy themselves, all the work will have been worth it!
