"Green Hell," Nordschleife, the famous race track in Germany!!!!

So I am planning a trip in September (since I am officially done modding the G8, but still thinking of a Corvette) to London/Poland/Germany/Netherlands (Amsterdam puff, puff) the flight has been booked, the route chosen! On September 17, 2010 I will be driving on the "Green Hell" in a rented race car!!
My choices are

VW Golf 5 GTI

VW Scirocco 2.0 TSI Coupé

BMW 325i SMG Limousine E46

Scirocco!

+1. While I think the GTI might be more fun, you can't drive a Scirocco here. The story would be that much better to tell enthusiasts.

If you can't get a YUGO take the Bimmer.

Yes but the BMW is slow as hell... the Rocco handles well and has a good bit more power. As someone mentioned its also the only one you can't drive here!

I believe there are only two Rocco's III's in the US which belong to VWOA and I've been in one of them. Sure wish they sold them here!

Take the Scirocco. It's the lightest of the three and has the same engine as the Golf.

Same chassis too if I'm not mistaken.

Almost but not quite... the Rocco has a wider track and has a slightly better tuned suspension. As someone mentioned its a bit lighter as well.

I'm with most here. Go for the Scirocco because you can't get behind the wheel of one here.

if you could do that, it would probably be best. You get to drive the car you really want to and, also drive a car you can't drive here.

Are these cars right hand drive?

If an option it's by far the best choice.. the E92 M3's handle great and a good bit more power then the rest of the options!

Wow those options have a lot of track time. If your on track in a normal car for 48+ minutes your gonna have some issues. Even in an M3 after 25-30 minutes the brakes start to fade, the oil temp gets hot, tires get greasy, etc.. Are these rentals track prepped by chance? I couldn't imagine them letting someone beat the snot out of it for over two hours, that would kill a normal car.

Modified race cars, suspension mods, tires, race rims, big brake kits, roll bars etc. 1/2 6 laps and full day is 10 laps or 15 laps...you technically don't want to finish right away...but enjoy the race!
