Maybe already asked before, but what are the differences between the two? Other than one being manufactured in Australia? Are the kits similar/the same for our applications?

Thanks,

EB

Sorry, if this has been asked before.

As far as what the Harrop website says they use the same design as the magnuson uses. The only other difference that I know of is the harrop is louder under full throttle. The magnuson from what Ive read is quieter under full throttle.

Harrop's (at least in a G8 application) are modified roots superchargers (efficient external compression blowers). They use the same TVS rotating group as the Magnachargers. Lysholm's are twin screws (basically meshing worm gear/screws which air is trapped and continuously compressed in a constantly smaller cavity as the air travels down the screw...they compress the air in the casing before the discharge into the intake manifold).

Yeah, thats why I was asking. I noticed both on his site and started to wonder the pro's and cons of each. One is also cheaper than the other.

A couple hundred bucks, not that bad, but it's because (I believe) the Harrop is polished.

The only plus I see right now is that the Maggie's Warranty is A LOT better.

I wouldn't mind picking one up after two or three years of the stock warranty is up. I don't care that all you can have is the Maggie ONLY without mods for there warranty to be valid.

You're right. My bad. I thought Harrop was Whipple.

Yella Terra (from Australia) makes the Whipple/Lysolm based blowers. Expect to see their 2.6, 2.9, 3.3, 3.6L blowers in the future.

NewEra is selling the Harrop for about $150-200 more than the Maggie IIRC. Check their link over there <--------

Im interested in these 'chargers, but I think I will wait to see the results on the VMS turbo kit. Either way, cant go wrong with any one of these power adders.

Does either the Harrop or the Magnacharger make more power than the other or are they generally about the same? I really like the whine that the harrop has when under throttle but if the maggie makes more power then I like that one more

I dont think anyone has a Harrop installed yet. In my opinion and from what ive read on both superchargers, they use the same design. So I believe they would make similar power.

It is weird that they use the same design because from clips that I have heard and what people have said, the Harrop is a lot louder than the Maggie

This is true. I guess magnuson had a more quiet mindset with its design. Because the outer casings are different.

"They" claim that the Harrop makes a little more power with all things equal but I've not seen definitive proof one way or the other. The Magnacharger's whine isn't as loud as the 03-04 Cobras but it's not quiet either. I'm really starting to love that sounds.
