View Full Version : What's the hole in this engine? (non-G8)
My buddy bought an engine from an older Ford Bronco that he was thinking about rebuilding, until he noticed this. What's the jagged-edge hole in it from?

That hole looks like its right behind where the distributor bolts in. Not sure what it is, but it doesnt look like it would effect anything.
Oh yeah? That's good news. Thanks, Charlie.

Does the hole go all rhe way through? If not I would say use it its not in an important area like stated above

It doesn't go all the way through.

The hole is in a galley where there is oil. I would pump a little oil into it and see where it goes. The worst it could be is a water jacket hole. My guess is that it is an air pocket from the original casting. Good luck.
