Two questions: Does the car need to be level? Is there a gasket or o-ring on the drain plug? Any info will be appreciated.

Can the gasket be re-used? I was going to run the front up on my rhino ramps. I guess I'll have to get have get out the jack stands for the back.

The way I change is to drive my passenger front tire up on a ramp. That will let oil drain almost completely. The down side is you have to crawl under the car. I put down some cardboard to help on any spillage.

All you need is a new filter, filter wrench(one that slips over the bottom of the filter works best) and 9qts of oil. Needs to be level to check final top off.

I should add that I put the oil in, start and check for leaks, then ease it off the ramp and shut off. Clean up my work area and then check the oil level.

Also I have heard it is to make sure that you put the right amount in since you don't just pour a whole number of quarts in (8.8)

I use 9 full quarts. It is dead on the top full line.

I did the Pace Performance G8 oil change using 9 qts Royal Purple and a K&N filter a couple of weeks ago and am pretty sure I noticed that the car ran better. I would highly recommend this and it's a GRRRR8 deal! Thanks Pace!

If the car needs to be level depends on the location of the drain plug. If it is in the front of the pan then raise the rear of the car, if it is in the rear of the pan then lift the front of the car.

Another stupid automotive design. "Let's put the drain plug in the middle of the pan".

Anyone know when they changed from 9 to 8? I changed my girlfriend's who bought hers last April and it seemed over full, will this hurt the engine and should I drain a quart out?
