So this is my 2nd oil change now and I'm wondering. Am I paying too much? I realize our cars take a considerable amount of oil and I like the convenience of a lube shop because I work alot, but I'm wondering would it be cheaper doing it myself? I went to a Pennzoil lube shop today and was charged $90 for Mobil 1 5w/30 Synthetic w/ Filter. Is that around the same cost of doing it myself with the same oil? Also, assuming they used the Pennzoil filter what do you guys think of that filter..I know there is only a handful of companies actually making them, puralator, wix...Is the Pennzoil anygood?
Thought it was cool seeing a G8 in their commercial, http://pennzoil.com/#

wow that's with filter? I'm doing it wrong then lol, atleast I get my money worth out of it....With the Oil Life Indicator it didn't come on till after 7k miles so I'm getting my money's worth out of it.

My oil changes (2 so far) cost $87 with Castrol Edge 5w-30 and ac ultraguard filters. I had to order the filters and I buy the oil at walm. A local shop charges me 15 to change it. I could save the 15 if I did it myself but it's not worth it to me.
