Cortex- Vararam 91 Tune @75% Torque Management TCM tune.
And Yeah- it chirps 3rd.
Rear Tire Pressure was 34psi
outside temp- approx 45 degrees (dry)
stock summer only 19s (with about half life left)
1 gallon of gas (very low)
3 people in car (including driver)
And YEAH it CHIRPS 3rd! that amazes me with the gearing in the car, and it being automatic.

Yeah I would gladly exchange running 11s for the novelty of chirping third..
But you have to admit thats pretty cool. :)

I'm assuming the name Monster clutch (Stage 4) indicated a very race ready clutch..
Is that not annoying on the streets?
I had a Stage 2 clutch in a car before, and that was alittle tricky, I can't imagine something as stiff and grabby as a Stage 4.

Yes it is :) My car occasionally will push the ass out hard on the 1-2.

Mine pushes the ass end out anywhere in 2nd. The converter seems to absorb some harshness of the 2-3 shift but it can still wag the tail a bit. People get nervous when they try to roll race and you spin tires on the interstate, they normally back off. Granted thats with the stock Potenza's, I got a fresh set of ET Streets that will be going on when the snow thaws to cure that problem.

Chirping 3rd gear means that you have entirely too much line pressure on your shift points. This is sapping your rwhp and costing you ET.

Help me understand this?
- My almost bone stock (old) 02 Trans Am (M6) - did it too, and that isn't powershifting. That is standard .
foot off gas, clutch in, shift, clutch out, foot back on gas. (as fast as possible)
My old 2004 Nissan Sentra SER-Spec V did it a time or two (M6 as well)
I am just impressed that an automatic can do this. (not that a car can do this)
There is a video of a ZR1 or maybe it is a Z06 barking 4th-- and I believe it is a high 9 second car. You would think if you are building a 9 second streetable car, you would build it to not do that.

Maybe powershifting is defined differently for different people.
I define it as. Powershifting: Foot on gas throughout the shifting process.
I said: Normal shifting as quickly as possible (before hitting rev limiter)
So in my mind I am comparing: M6 (NOT powershifting) vs Automatic.

Can you adjust this with a tune? I believe my tuner said he turned mine down?

I don't know if it is "line pressure" or what not-- but I think it is labeled as Torque managment.
Most people set @ 50%. I have mine set @ 75%. % of the reduction you make.
So in theory I have reduced the TM by 75%.

My lame attempt at humor, I guess. I.e. While you guys are chirping 3rd, I have so much power that I can chirp 4th - which I can't of course. Just messin' around. Sorry.

Lately, since my tune, have been able to break the rear end loose in 2nd... enough to scare myself a few times. It has been the coldest of the winter + 13k miles worn through tires + tuning. I think it has done it once into 3rd but not positive on that.
Normal for changing the torque management? Does it really rob HP? I have found it more fun to drive because it requires a little pedal work, which makes me enjoy it more than just flooring it.

I cant get the wheels (stockers) to stick at 50% tm while also chirping 3rd so I set it at 25% tm and still chirpin 3rd and loss of traction...

Breaking loose on the drag strip (275/40/18) when hitting second is no fun, no fun at all !!!!!! That is what talked me into drag radials.....

Yeah- at the track in my nearly stock WS6, I got completely sideways in 2nd. Those cars are beasts (so much Torque for such a light rear end.
Scary stuff.

I can't wait to get my tune. I want to get into the 12's sooooo bad. Headers and CAI along with tune will get me 2nd gear scratch and the 12's. (I hope)

Same reason I got them. Was always having to correct to keep it straight. Of course, even after drag radials I was still breaking them loose a little when hitting second, but much improved.

Any kind of loss of traction at 2-3 shift speeds would be a bit unsettling.
