My first autocross, The Streets of Willow

So today I hit Willow Springs. With not much idea of what to expect, I took the beginners course. 3 sessions of instructor lead laps, 20 minutes each session.

nooo, actually my problem is that the USB card went bad in my old laptop. My iPhone is synced to it. I was able to use a program to get 1000 songs off it, but no luck with the pictures and video. So, because of the length of the clips, I can't upload over the air to youtube and the mobileme will let me but the file format is wrong.

All in all it was fun. My car has like 6 new rock chips in the windshield... in interior is covered in a fine dust, because you have to run the track with your front windows down.
I am exhausted. Mentally and physically. I did 4 sessions, 2 1/2 with instructors and 1 1/2 on the open track with 14 other beginners. Made some new friends and Pretty much don't think that is something I will ever have to do again. I prefer drag racing. But it was fun.

What kind of speeds does the track allow you to reach?

how did you brakes hold up?

Brakes did fine... a bit of ABS shudder during the last two laps. No real brake fade, there is some scoring on the front rotors.
This is the "streets of willow" and it is a 1.8 mile track. My speeds did not exceed 85 (which was for a very short time on the front straightaway) The advanced class, iirc, hits 115-120 mph throughout the track.

looks like fun expect for getting up that early in the morning and I thought getting up at 7:00am to "drive" Sebring sucked!

Ya. I agree, but for me to get to the opening gates for any track, it means leaving the house at 5am'ish.

Its the price I pay for fun.
