Anybody else have this happen yet? I'm sittin in my car idling just after washing it. I was moving it. The door ajar light comes on and all doors are closed. I turn the car off, check all the doors, open and reclose. The light is still on. Hit the lock button and it beeps 5 times sayin a door is open. I left it alone for a few minutes and checked again and everything was ok?

It may have got water in the latch that contains the switch. Mine has done it once and I had just washed it for the first time, but has never done it again.

I just had this issue pop up today. It did rain this morning, but I noticed the problem after work when everything had dried out. I've checked a few times tonight and it's still on. Either of you see it again in the last 6 months?

It only happened to me once.

I has happened to me every day this week. It's the rear door on the driver's side. It only happens when my son gets in after daycare. By the next morning I assume it has reset itself, because it's not an issue until he opens that door again. It's been dry the last couple days too, so moisture is looking less likely.

This just started happening on my car...
Searched all the G8 boards, and this is the only one with a thread about it...so I"m posting here...
Have received quite a bit of precipitation over the last 24-48 hours (tons of rain, then got a little bit of snow), so I'm thinking it does have to do with moisture/water...
Drove to work this morning after cleaning the snow off my car (ugghhh... snow in april, this is what i get for living in northern indiana) with no issues. Drove home for lunch, no issues. Started my car up and noticed when I was driving back to work from lunch that my domelight was on and the door ajar light on the dash was on... When I got to work, I double checked all doors/trunk/hood (closed/reopened 2-3 times each). Door ajar light still on and honks 5 times when attempting to lock the car..
Guess I'll just wait this one out and see if it goes away or continues to happen.. If it does, I'll be dropping it off at the dealership...

Well, it's been intermittent since the initial occurence...
First day (yesterday) it was on all day... this morning when I remote started the car it was fine... then the alarm started going off because the whatever-faulty-switch it is triggered the door ajar... lol...
Been going on/off all day... sometimes when I go to the car, it's fine, other times it just triggers out of nowhere (like this morning, I hadn't even opened my front door yet, let alone touch the car and it triggered).. it will trigger while I'm driving or sitting at a light..
*Knock on wood*
It's been fine for the last 3-4 hours though... so we'll see...

Ok I'm getting a bit pissed off! My car says a door is ajar but they're all closed. Where are the sensors located on these cars? I'm sure it's hidden inside the door. Light stays on and horn honks 4 times when locking.
HELP!

Be sure to check the trunk too. I hate these trunks don't pop up when you unlock them (or atleast mine doesn't).

Trunk IS shut.

I don't think an open trunk triggers the open door notification.

Okay, well so much for the easy answer. According to the service manual the switches are in the door latches.

This is for a VE so you'll likely have to swap Right Front info for Left Front info where applicable.

Well I have the doors all sound deadened and I'm thinking that they'll hack the shit out of it. I can do it without hacking it.
It just pisses me off that it wasn't doing this when I turned the car off and locked it yesterday morning and NOW it is... So it's either the front or rear drivers door. I think I can narrow it to those two as I only used those two.
That will make the job easier I guess.
I just want a car I can drive for 3 years and not worry about.
Thanks again all!

You don't have to open a door for the sensor to fail...

I wonder if the dealer would hook their scanning tool to it to tell me what door sensor is not working. I wish I could tell... By reading above, it looks that they can tell me huh?

Just as another thought for a simple fix or for troubleshooting, I wonder if it could be related to the cold temperatures? Maybe putting a hair dryer on low and trying to heat up the latch might help.

I've driven this car in -20º temps without an issue... Who knows.
I think that's my first course of action though. I did take it through the touch-less a few days ago, so anything is possible.

Well it looks like it's going to be an on again off again situation... These are the hardest to diagnose. I'm thinking it's water related now.
