2008 IOM G8 with custom license plate in downtown Rochester today around 12:30. I pulled up next to you to try and get your attention but you were turning into the Buckingham Commons. Been a long time since I've seen another IOM other than Mike's @ New Era.

oh HUSH, no one cares about IOM g8's :P . J/K
I saw a Black g8 GT on 490 yesterday which had it's rear diffuser changed out, couldn't catch up to it, i wasn't in my car, i was in my girlfriends cobalt going to get my car out of the shop, and it's still not fixed :(
On a side note: Someone in my work parking lot put a nice swipe on the back bumper and put a scratch right through the paint. I hate people who don't take responsibility for doing things.
Sorry don't mean to thread jack. Just babbling while i'm at work lol.

I think I've seen that same car on the Inner Loop. Only seen it once though, in the morning. Didn't notice any plate though.

Doh, that sucks. Some jack ass hit me on Christmas Eve at the Delta Sonic and damaged my rear bumper. I can already tell you how much it costs, $380 to get the bumper painted and scratches/dent repaired at Patrick Pontiac. Talk to Mark, he's a cool guy and hooked me up. They do a nice job and have a decent bake booth.
Also had them replace all 4 control arms and cracked open my tranny and fixed the leaky seals. Hopefully this resolves my flare issue and I can tackle my 13.1 run! I was so close before my tranny started acting up!

There is a red one that parks right off the inner loop by Cumberland St. This guy in the IOM had his 19" summer rims on...I hope he wasn't running the Potenzas....he'll have a fun ride home today :)

I will definitely talk to him, thanks for the reference. That's where I've been bringing the car because Ralph Pontiac was being ridiculous and just flat out charging way too much for anything done. Plus it was a lot farther away. Maybe when I bring the car back in to have the vibration TSB taken care of I will have the body shop look at it.
What would i notice if i have that transmission flare?

Yeah the service and body shop at Patrick have been great to me. I can't say the same thing from their sales team since I couldn't get them to sell me a G8, but oh well. Ralph charges way too much for body shop work, and they don't have a bake booth. You want a bake booth if you plan on having your paint stay on, especially when it's 10 degrees out.
As for the flare, you would have harsh shift between 2-3 shift. It will feel like it isn't shifting into 3rd gear like it should, your revs will jump up and the shift will hesitate. It's pretty noticeable...and I had it REAL bad initially. I first had them flash my ECM/TCM which fixed the problem for the most part. I'd try that first if you are having problems. Since you don't have a tune, the TCM re-calibration may do the trick. If you have to look for it, you probably don't have a big problem. There was no looking for me, you knew something was really wrong.
Talk to Steve in Service. He's a busy guy but he is quite familiar with this (now anyways haha).

Did you have them change out your O-rings too?
I might have to take the hour drive to Patrick GMC instead of messing around with the idiot dealers by me!

I just brought in the TSB and told them to check it out. They gave me no issues and went to work on it. I must have been the first G8 to have this done since they needed a special tool and a few more parts than what was originally listed. So after being the guinea pig, you guys shouldn't have a problem I hope. Same thing with the lower control arms but they were well aware of that one haha. Car rides like a dream now.

Sweet I'll have to check them out in a couple months when the weather breaks. Do they know you by name... I"ll say you referred me to the Best dealership in town.

haha they might. I've been there a half dozen times just this past month. I'm sure if you ask for Steve in service and tell them Geoff in the orange G8 sent ya, they'd know.
They know the car, that's for sure. It does take some time though...they had my car for 3 days to tear down the tranny and test stuff (I also had them simultaneously paint my rear bumper too which I'm sure slowed things down a bit).
They did bang out my control arms in one day with balancing--lickedy split!

I'm going to go and start name dropping next week maybe, oh wait not next week, need my car to go to turning stone at the end of next week. Motor mounts and the tsb will be officially addressed the week after next, i'm calling Steve who is the Jeep Service Advisor and telling him i'm still not happy with how the car is driving. I usually deal with Jeff, who is the GM advisor, but this time Steve took care of me and took good care of me, atleast being honest about not feeling sure that the car is totally fixed and telling me to bring it back in if i'm not happy.
