If that is like my old mans truck you can do a cutom intake pretty easy! We bought a cone filter and a small straight piece of pipe! it actually apeared to help out a bit. (he also did a weld in magnaflow and it sounds killer!)

Those 8.1s like exhaust and air. I would look at welding in a hi flow muff in place of the stocker. Make sure it is for a 8.1 or it can set the carpet on fire due to overheating.
