any one have any experience with the Eibach drop springs (http://www.pfyc.com/pc/G84001/G8NEW/Eibach+Pro-Kit+Springs-Pontiac+G8.html?a_aid=g8b)?
Good/Bad? Is this more or less of a drop than say a pedders Street II with drop?

For what ever it is worth, here is my take,

I had eibachs sport springs on my 2004 Grand Prix GTP Comp G. I paired them up with the Bilstein Gas struts from the GP GXP. It was a good combination. The ride was pretty firm but not bone-jarring until you ran out of travel, (they lowered the GP about 1 1/4 at both ends). Some guys who used them with the stock (but not comp g)struts, especially if they had some miles on them, sufferred from 'pogo', the stock struts could not damp the stiffer springs. The comp g had stiffer struts and did not 'pogo' with eibachs until much later in the strut life. In fact, a number of guys bought Comp G struts (like from me) to replace their non-comp g struts to prevent 'pogo'.

What I would be concerned about is, knowing the OEM G8 dampers are under damped and the springs are under-sprung for serious road work, how well will the OEM dampers control the eibach springs and for how long? I'm not saying there will be problem. I just want to put it out for discussion. In fact, the guys with them seem to like them and report no problems but some G8 drivers also love the OEM setup. It is a pretty personal preference thing.

From threads I've been in, I think the eibachs lower the front a little more than Pedders and the rear a little less. I think both look quite good. I think they equalize the gap between the tire and fender opening.

I can't speak to the ride quality on a G8 with eibachs but the eibachs and bilsteins on my GTP were fairly close to the compliance of the Pedders springs and dampers on my G8 but not what I would call equal.

It is pretty subjective and really depends upon your tastes and expectations.

This thread has some good information:

locrzng888 has had them for a while now and should be able to provide additional data.

I'm torn between going with these Eibachs just because they're cheap, or maybe get JUST the lowering springs from pedders for a little more since I doubt a full street or Track-II with drop is ever gonna happen. I just know I NEED a drop once I put on my 20's lol

I think the Eibachs for us daily drivers is too extreme. I want something that more or less evens out the stance of the car...
