Just curious what your best stock 0-60 time was and what were the conditions?

Not stock, but with just the ECM tune I was getting 5.1, back during the spring.

If all goes well I will be going after the first of the year. I am just trying to get a few missing pieces for the cam swap, the wheels and DRs, and tuning and I am there!

Going after the cam swap?

No fair!

It really depends. If the track will be open I will put the converter, wheels/DRs and tune it and go, but if it closes for a month or so and I have the time I will just do it all to be ready.

I'm going to do what we talked about first. I want to see what can be done with-out the cam.

Then, I'll get serious. lol

GRRRR8
12-08-2008, 08:24 PM
Yet another thing I have to do! Maybe I will wait on the cam so we can see how the long distance "shoot-out" goes. There can only be 1 winner! Plus if I wait on the cam it will allow for some real good head work and light weight valves.

Charlie: You're not going to try to get some times on street tires? Then try it with DR's?

Right now I am having serious traction issues in the cool weather. Any surface, any air pressure, any launch technique, once it hits full throttle at any speed up to 30 it is spinning the tires. So when I go to the track I wont waste my time running without DRs.

+1

Any G8 with LTs, CAI and Tune, and a converter will run in the 12s. Street tires just slow you down. I got a 12.84 on street tires, babying it all the way through first so it wouldn't spin.

4.55 w/ a tune and my homemade intake. It was prob. 60 degrees out when it was done. I have the log.

Stock was I think a 5.1 or something. I forget to be totally honest.

4.85 with only an HSRK. But it was 50 degrees outside... Dashhawk measurement.

tonight.......I was pleasantly surprised when the DashHawk plugged in and worked perfectly.
I was thinking I had to set it for GM pids or something...?

Anyway, with 475 miles on the clock, I pulled a 4.86, 4.88, 4.85
weather is about 58* with IATs reading 80*...I
did it quick without any cool down time, or driving to get temps down.

I was in sport mode with TC off. I also let tires down from 55lbs
all around...(from dealer)
to 49 fronts...38 rears.
Wheel hop slowed down a bunch with the air more correct.

Ok, so I had some spare time today and finally had a chance to try out the Dynolicious application on my Ipod. It uses that accelerometers in the IPOD Touch to record 0-60, 1/4 mile etc and convert them to HP.

So, after three tries, here what I had:

1) t/c on, 0-60 5.54.
2) t/c on, better start technique, 0-60 5.31
3) t/c off, some hop, 0-60 5.26

So, it seems the posted 0-60 times of 5.3 are about right on and the CAI helps a little.

Oh, and the machine calculated the HP at 343. That's based on my input of of curb weight with me in it at 4240. I guess it extrapolates HP from the 0-60 times using the weight as a factor. I was on a country road with blind corners, and it was 23 degrees out with some ice spots here and there, or I would have tried some 1/4 times too.

My best so far is 4.60 several times in the same night. It was about 40*. Time was taken with the Dashhawk.
