Hello all,

First, let me say, I am in no way affiliated with this product.

If you are not familiar with Jax Wax products, I would suggest them to anyone. http://www.jaxwax.com/

This outfit makes some of the best auto finish wax I have ever used.

I first became familiar with it when working with a Hooters Cup Pro series race team this summer at Jennerstown Speedway. I was working with a race team out of Columbus, Oh over a weekend this summer and when we were prepping the car for the race that evening we gave it a going over with Jax Wax liquid carnauba paste wax. It had the consistency just a bit thicker than water. The stuff went on easy and came off easier and made a car that had spent the afternoon running practice laps and a qualifying session like great. Two of us waxed the entire car in about 10 minutes.

I have just purchased the Jax Wax swirl remover wax which is recommended by Jax Wax for black finishes.

I just got done waxing my 2 week old G8 sedan that is Panther black with the swirl remover and as God as my witness, I have never seen a black car look like this. I could almost reach down into the paint.

I think I pee'd my self a little when I first stepped back to look at it. :D

It is the by God best wax product I have ever used in my life and I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone that want a quality wax job with minimal effort.

You can order it directly from them at http://www.jaxwax.com/

Also, Jegs High Performance http://www.jegs.com/

These are the only 2 places I know of where this great product can be purchased. It is a bit pricey, the 16oz bottle was $15, but worth every penny in my opinion.

If you have a black finish, you really need to try the swirl remover. It is absolutely amazing stuff.

I will never by another wax product other than Jax Wax as long as I can wax my own vehicles!

I'm pretty good at maintaining the paint on my vehicles and I just feel like I was spammed.

This is with Meguire's products on a 2 year old G6.

I in no way intended for anyone to feel like they were spammed.

I just found a great product and wanted to share it with the board.

I apologize if I stepped on any toes.

You're fine. I have to say that is one glowing endorsement though.

Looks Great John.

What does Ziebart charge for that?

What kind of camera do you use? All your pics are superb.

Thanks,

Greg

I use Maggywires too lol. I've been using the Gold...something. How do you apply the wax? From time to time, I get a haz in the paint when I wax and I have a hard time getting it out.

I have been detailing cars for 30 years. Over the counter stuff is OK. I found when you see a car and it looks like a clear mirror, no imperfections and a very uniform finish, odds are it was done with professional products.

Look at Adams 2nd Generation 7.5 Complete Machine Essentials kit. For $300 you get everything and the correct type of buffer to use. DO NOT think all buffers are created equal. Many have and burned their paint. If you watch their video and follow direction you to will have a finish that people drool over. I will be doing a 100% detail on mine including clay bar and buff very soon so you can see.

I thought for paint correction, smaller diameter pads were better. I have never used a Porter Cable, or any orbital for that matter, but many people on autopia.com recommend using 4" pads in lieu of 6" pads. Wouldn't these 7.5" pads make it even harder to achieve much of a correction?

With what the new pads are made of and the design of the Porter Cable I would not want too small of a dia pad. The smaller it is makes it harder to blend the finish and creates very hard to get out swirls. On a white car it would not be to bad, but doing this on black would make for a nightmare. I have seen smal pads used on difficult areas, but I usually do all those by hand.

Well I just had my car professionally detailed, but I have been wanting to get a PC so I can do my own polishing when necessary. I will use my truck as my test vehicle to get the process down. It looks good, but I have taken it through the drivethrough carwash since day 1, so it has lots of swirls.

If you get that kit I mentioned earlier it has the different compounds and pads that will take care of any paint imperfections as long as they are not deep scratches.

Charlie is right, smaller (3"-4") diameter pads do make it more difficult to blend and apply even coats of polish or wax. We purposely tapered the edges of our pads so you can get them in tighter spots - even under door handles and around mirrors.

I use 6" diameter pads on my pc.

Just got my Maguire's G110 DA polisher with a 6' pad and went to work on my '95 Toyota truck. Got some extra pads and polishes from a local shop that supplies dealers and went to work. Came out pretty good considering the clear coat is shot. Looking forward to trying the Adam's machine products, wax, and larger pads. Next stop, the G8! Have to see how shiny white can get!! (Got some swirls to get rid of too).

PaycheckG8 I highly suggeest you use our larger Gen2 pads. They are a huge step forward towards perfect results. They were crucial in getting my truck from pic 1 to pic 2.
