Here's one for the troubleshooters, my heat isn't working properly, but only on the driverside. Passenger heat works perfectly. DS is a good 8-10 degrees cooler. Any ideas?

Hmmmm.... vacuum leak not letting a door close/open fully?

I was thinking the same thing. Does anyone know where the appropriate vacuum lines are located?

Did you check to make sure you are operating in a single mode function? You may have it in dual zone.

Yeah I did. I checked it in both dual and Single. The difference is greater when in dual mode. the other night I just put it in dual, closed all of the driver's side vents and let the other side warm everything

The drivers side temp door actuator is not working correctly.

Take it in and have a competent mechanic diagnose it. (WARRANTY)

I don't think we have any competent ones around here. They'd more likely than not say it was caused by a loose glove box door, which in turn was caused by a rag laying in it, which was put in when they couldn't fix the glove box rattle. I really don't want the dealership touching anything until its a last result. Everytime they take something apart and put it back together they create a noise. I'd rather be cold through the winter, or just do what I did before and let the passenger side heat the cabin

I think I have the same problem. Noticed it a few weeks ago, that the drivers side appeared to have much less heat than the passengers side. (Yes, have it in single zone mode). I hadn't troubleshoot the problem any further because I havent been driving the G8 since it started snowing. Let us know what you find out.

This is pretty easy to get at.
Remove the lower dash panel and then the console side panel. You will see it(facing you/gas pedal) Tap on it and see if it starts working.
Its called the left side temperature actuator.

Find another Dealer
Often easier said than done. Good dealerships that don't want to cop out on their responsibilities are few and far between.

I would say, if possible, scan the car. The HVAC actuators will set codes if stuck...B0408 I think should be there if the actuator is not responding properly.

I don't believe so... I also checked for any bulletins, don't see any. I think it would require a scan, maybe onstar can do it.

These might help locate the actuator.
