I'm doing a "custom" set up exhaust and I wanted to see what you guys thought of the muffler choices. I'm thinking that I'm going to go with the Corsa DB series blacks, but they are really expensive. I just wanted to see if there is anything out there that will sound good with mufflers that are around $100 each. That would be perfect. Oh I already have the X pipe sitting in my house ready to go.

Magnaflows would be dramatically cheaper and offer good performance and sound... Sound is SO subjective though. What sounds good to me may sound like poo to you... :o

Yeah I know thats the problem. I think magnaflows are going to be too quiet for me. Do you know anything about Borla S types? I bet they are crazy loud, like too loud.

I thought that too, but the drone got to me. Not only did it drone, but it was rattling things in my car. My sunglass case rattled horribly. Once I got that fixed, the car seat was next. There is still something in the back that rattles from time to time. It only did it after I got the Magnaflows. They are fairly quiet by the way, more quiet than my stock GTO exhaust was. I ended up having to disable AFM, which has improved the sound quality tremendously. IMO, AFM through louder exhaust is kind of embarrassing. It just costs me in gas every time I fill up. Fortunately, I don’t use my car for long trips.

Aero mufflers, stainless steel and should run less than $100 each. I had my x-pipe and two SS Aero mufflers installed for $160.

I know you said that Magnaflows are too quiet, but one of the most recommended mufflers on the TBSS site is #11259, and can be had for under 70 bucks shipped if you shop around.

I picked one up for the TBSS and haven't put it on yet, but a LOT of guys have it and like it a lot.

It is 4x9x18(case) 24" overall

there are other ....Louder choices...like 4x9x14, and 5x8x.... types as well.
