I know George , Charlie, and myself have been looking for options. There is a diff available but it"s 1600 no gears no case just the diff.

Same here. I'm going to have my dealer pull my axles and take a look at things.

Mine hasn't done it yet. I am very hard on mine so I expect it to break eventually.

So is the problem, the fact that the stock differential is not that beefy? By doing more & more burnouts are we running the risk of breaking the differential / axle?

I'll probably need to replace this with what George & Drugs go with for an aftermarket differential down the road.....

My car is currently doing 2 wheel burnouts, I had my wife verify.....

Don't forget, that price is in $Au, in $US it's around 1500. The $Au price includes a lot of tax that probably wouldn't be included in a dealer price over here.

There is a US based Harrop dealer looking into that diff. It is only available from Harrop as it uses Eaton parts but is not produced by Eaton.

I've had mine at the strip for 3 runs and its done one wheelers all three times. Needless to say, I've been disappointed with the crappy 60's and just frustrated. This damn thing has 11's written all over it if I had some bite.

100 burnouts?

Yeah I wouldn't expect mine to work properly with that under its belt. But your car can get away with a one wheel burnout if it's running low 12's with no internal.

Mine's off an on, if I use the water box its fine, if not something it's both sometimes its one. But as I've said before it seams like its a helical style which is more for road racing.

It's definitely not a helical, it's a clutch LSD.

Here's a thread from ls1.com.au, there are many pics of a VE diff that is chewed up. The owner is replacing it with a Truetrac, which IS a helical...
