Work my for fathers local construction company doing anything from demolishing to fine finish work with custom woodworking. Also we have a spray shop in the back of our garage which we do spray woodwork.. and paint the occasional car.
On the weekends my job is tormenting the cops who stare at my car and want to pull me over to give me a ticket to find out what I am driving. (Only 1 other G8 in my city so I get lots of blind stares.)

I am amazed at how many members are in quality control/metrology/machining jobs.
Maybe 1 person out of 1000 has even seen the word "metrology". Most folks curse me for the bad weather reports. :p

What brands/kinds of machine do you operate/program??
I started on a run down manual but now I run many different brands but all using a Fanuc control - mainly Mori Seiki, Yama Seiki, Doosan, Ikegai, HAAS, all 12" or 24" chuck, bar feed style cnc lathes, but also have experience w/ HAAS mills and dual spindle cnc's.
Currently learning the perameters of our new HAAS and Okumas, crossreferencing G,M,&S codes/commands between machines is simple in our shop, but I also help with the I.D. and O.D. in our GD&T shops.
Long term, I would like to get into automotive machining. A place 2 hours from me Texas Speed and Performance has a full CNC shop where they produce their PRC heads, that would be a dream for me. Another interest are the water jet cutters, those are pretty sweet too.
