My car has a little bit of a tough time going into second when it's cold. After it is completely warmed up it does much better. But, if it's cold I go from first and pull back into second and I can either, force it into second or wait for the RPMs to settle close to idle and it will slide into second.
Will a better gear oil help this at all? If so what kind should I go with?

I had the same issue with my G6 so I switched to Royal Purple, and it helped a bit but it still did it.

I can't remember the company, but I've seen on tv (Speed or Spike) a additive that helps shifting when cold.
Maybe Lubrizol?

I think its more of a hyd/clutch issue then fluid. As the clutch heats up it expands and increases friction. Once we upgrade the clutch that should stop.

Our Subie does it too. Once it's warm it's a breeze. It's first in that car though and only first.
