It will help a little, but must droning is in the muffler itself. You can Dynomat the floor of the trunk and this usually makes most happy.

Yep all the time. I know that changing the length of the piping on an exhaust system changes the drone zone. I was able to eliminate the the drone all together on my Titan. I used the same muffler but shortened the exhaust outlet. That's not really an option on the g8 as I'm not willing to hack it up further but I think about it all the time. I also was able to alter it in a Honda Civic by adding a Helmholtz resonator (additional length of pipe) but never got rid of it like some of the Mustang guys did.

With the combination of DOD and the tupperware trunk, I don' think we'll ever have a clean idle-to-6500 rpm rumble.
