Anyone have any input? I am going to buy my daughter one for X-mas and Im not sure what to buy??? She is 2 1/2 but I want something that she can use for more than a few months (Nothing to small or slow)
Any input from the moms and dads would be great! Thanks

I can't remember where I found it, but I only found one that was worth my money. It had a remote control parental override. That way if the kids started driving off into the street or into a car or something, you have the controls to turn the car and start/stop/reverse. Wish I could find it as my kids would really like it.
Found something that shows you the concept: http://www.babykidtoy.com/product_detail.php?ID=73
I bought my son a power wheels jeep when he was two. It was a little big for him at the time, but he didn't have the motor skills yet to steer it, so I would just turn the wheel to the right and he would drive in circles. Once he turned three, he could drive circles around other kids his age and he drove his jeep until he was 5 or 6. Only issue I had was the battery had to be replaced once.

I got my son this for Christmas last year. He loves it. After a summer of use, it still looks and operates as new.

It is a 12 volt and has low, high and reverse speeds. He was 3 at the time he received it. The vehicle is pretty slow in low speed, so your child will be able to learn how to control it. The high speed cruises at ~6mph, I'd guess. Battery lasts an hour and a half at high speed. Charges over night.
I paid $230 at Toys R Us last year using a coupon, I believe normal price was $299 then. They are cheaper now, IIRC.

Thanks for the input guys! Posidn42 I like the parentral control idea... might have to look for that! One other thing we want is something that can go on grass and dirt (up hills) as our yard is far from flat!
Shredmo I like that one... I will have o se if it come with the parent control feature!

The company, Peg Perego makes some really decent ones. They come in either 12v or 24v. They are a little pricey, but pretty good stuff. We bought my son one when he was about 3 or 4, and it worked great. My wife would even drive it with him. It had a limiter, so it would go either 3 or 6 mph. It was also a 2 speed. I remember him chirping the tires going into second gear-it was sweet. Now he's going on 15, and has his eye on "more powerful" vehicles!

There is no parent control feature on the vehicle my son has. My son is smart, but not very coordinated; he does fine without it. The vehicle has plenty of power for going up hills, etc. Tires get a good amount of traction in the yard but are plastic. It only holds 100lbs, so adult riding is not recommended. I have cruised up the driveway on it once, you could tell it was struggling a bit with my 195 lbs of weight.

I bought my 2yr girl a 50cc quad used for about $100.
It needed some parts welded and the engine tuned up. She couldn't touch the foot pegs on her birthday in June so I just set the idle a little high and let her roll along. She loved it. Yes I had to chase her but it was fun. I hope next spring she will do a little better.
Just like this one Ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/50cc-atv-midwest-bobcat-suzuki-honda-yamaha-kids-youth_W0QQitemZ230406187990QQcmdZViewItemQQptZGo_K arts?hash=item35a5476bd6) only hers is red.
I have been thinking of making a remote kill switch using some of my extra RC parts. Would be a simple servo switch.

I got my boy one at a garage sale for $25, it had a bad battery that I replaced with a riding mower battery. It was a dune buggy and had no problem going around the yard tearing up the grass.
