While I was on vacation in South Africa my car spent the month at Benchmark Motoring in Bellevue, WA getting a much needed sound system upgrade.
My goal was to get an absolute clean sound, with solid tight bass. Mission accomplished. I went with a non-traditional set up.
Subs: 4 JL Audio 6W3
Front: Focal Polyglass 165VR 2way components
Amp: JL Audio HD900/5
JL Audio bass knob
Processer: Audio Control LC6

The entire installation is completely stealth. My goal was to look as stock as possible to the untrained eye, retain the use of my trunk, and be able to carry a full size spare tire.

Here are the results:

No you won't hear the bass pounding from a block away, you also won't hear my trunk rattling. All you hear is crystal clear sound on the inside!

nice & clean install

where are the 4 subs?

In the box mounted to the rear deck. If you look at the skeleton wood picture you can see the cut outs for the 4 subs.

i see it now, i thought you were using the existing two holes and just mistyped. That should eleminate alot of vibration on the rear deck

nice job! Those guys do great work from what I have heard.

Also I like to see Audio Control being used! they are local to Seattle and they are a very good customer of mine!

Audio Control is just down the street from me.

Benchmark does awesome work. They custom make every bracket, and mount. The entire system is installed so that it can be removed and no one would ever know that it was in there. All mounting goes into existing holes, etc. No sheetmetal cutting or any such activity is done.

Awesome set up! I've got a question for those of you that are using Audio Control sound processors.

How do you like them? Does it really clean up the signal before going into the amps? They seem like a great thing.

I too am thinking about using either the Audio Control LC6, LC7, or LC8 (I know they make some with the 'i' moniker too.

I'll eventually have 4 Polk db651's, 2 8" Kicker CVR8's an amp to power each & some sort of sound processor......

That looks great Tony...very clean...I might ask them about doing just some labor for me. I've done some of the most high end stereos in cars you can imagine. All german components, each speaker distance measured to the listening position and than delayed accordingly, entire frequency response done with an RTF, than adjusted accordingly for a flat response...you get the idea.

I've been hesitant in the g8 because I'm just too damn busy lol...if I could get them to do the grunt work I'd be in, but I want to do all my own equipment and turn up of the system.

Tony, I'm assuming they used the stock HU? That would something I would like to talk to them about. I'll see if I can the specs on the DAC in our CD player, I'm thinking that would be the one weak link I wouldn't want to keep.

I would highly recommend them to you. The work is top notch. Check out their website. benchmarkmotoring dot com

I used to do stereo's many years ago and like you, I am way to busy to mess with it now. I should see if I have any old pics of my Oldsmobile Delta 88. Rockford Power 1000 on 4 Rockford Punch Pro 15's.
