I said that I was not going to get CAI until the spring but with the AUD being so low right now I could not pass this up.

I got them to sell it to me without the filter (going to get a K&N) so my total shipped was $210 USD. I got the black powder coated one and not the chrome one above. They say shipping will take 7-14 days so when I get it I will post of pics and give a little review.

Anyone know what PN K&N I should get?

Depends on the tube size...

I paid 250 for my NEP one WITH the K&N filter so it seems to me yours isn't as good of a deal unless it offers amazing performance numbers which they all seem to be about the same.

Hrmm that looks pretty sweet, goes WAY into the fender apparently as well. Let us know how it works out!

Yeah it comes out to about the same price of the NEP, but I like the looks of this one more.

Then that's ALL that matters! :first:

That looks way to long, I built the one for Spectre's first mock up and if that tucks down in the fender opening I would be shocked. That has the 11" filter on it which is 3" inches longer then the standard cone filter. Something is just not right. It looks great and I hope it works out. There just isn't that much room down there.

If it ends up being to long the tube can always be cut.

Naw, it will fit. The top of that cone will be right on top of Charlies LP mod

I am going to see just how close it is and if it is too close to the opening I may go ahead and cut a little off.

You can also make the opening for the LP not quite as large, or even drill out a couple inch holes.

Thats an idea too. I was going to wait anyway to do the LP mod. Once I get the CAI I will see what will work best

They use to custom make filters if you get them the dimensions you want. I do not know if they still do or not. I had them make me several for an ATV years ago that I had made a custom intake for. They were more than helpful.

It is 4"

Also, who else got one? The seller emailed me to tell me that he sold two more to people in the US in a short time after I got mine and thanked me for passing on info about his CAI.

Why does the picture of the CAI look different from top to bottom? The bottom one almost looks like the filter mounts right to the MAF almost...

This is the same unit I have on my car. Mine is black.
The first pipe does a 90 degree from the TB.
The second pipe extends from the MAF to JUST inside the front bumper basically straight down from where the stock airbox is located. The WHOLE filter element is outside of the "engine bay".
The MAF is maintined in exactly stock location.
I think I got real lucky with my purchase. I got it second hand but never fitted.
Cost me a total of $125 with filter.

So I take it you like it? Do you have any pics of it? Is the filter 4"x7"? Sorry for all the questions. lol :bye:

I love it. When I was getting my tune done (by the producers of the GenTT kits), I asked if the "OEM" filter was suitable or should replace with a K&N. It was highlighted as being quite suitable at the moment.
I also refused to pay the insane amounts of money being asked for the OTRCAI systems as they're not really offering that much of an improvement, at leat performance wise.
I'll see if I can't get some pics done of the engine bay. (am at work at the moment so will have to get it done at home)

Always happy to help out anyway I can.

Looks like the Mail Man tried to deliver my CAI today but I was not home. I will be going to the PO early tomorrow and then going to Jegs to get a filter and getting this thing installed sometime tomorrow. I will take pics and put up a review sometime in the next day or two.
