G8 to be rebadged as Impala? New thread 11-24-09

I'm not sure how true this is but I was at the dealer's today and one guy that worked there said that someone he knows heard at a Detroit show the G8 will come back as the new Impala. Another who works there also heard this. They also agreed that it was really stupid to stop making them.

I didn't ask, I just assumed they would, I'm not even sure when they heard it and when the car show was, it could be old news.

Crap, too bad! The Chevy Badge looks CHEAP! Rebadge as a Buick Roadmaster (Base, GT and GXP) It won't be the same car with that freaking BOW TIE! Now I am so upset, I won't be able to eat my Thanksgiving turkey knowing they turned a great car into a freaking TURKEY.

I just read in my Car & Driver that the Impala is to be built on the epsilon (not 100% sure it was epsilon) platform like the new Buick Lacrosse which IS FWD and AWD but it's getting RAVE reviews.

Yeah, that's been known for a few weeks now.

The G8 will NOT be coming over again as the Impala. The W-body is going to continue production for at least a couple years, and there are talks as said before about moving it to the epsilon platform.

As far as the Caprice being sold to the public? Who knows... Let's hope it does happen as it is a larger car than anything that will be epsilon based. Still, I'd rather have the regular wheel based Zeta being under some sort of sedan over here.
