Things went good, but not great. My best time of the day was a 13.177 @ 106.88mph with a 1.943 60' time. A bunch of my times were 13.18, 13.19, 13.21, 13.28. So they were pretty consistant but no frickin' 12s and no 1.8 60' times.

I don't know what the problem is?

Air pressure 37 psi rear / 51psi front, outside temp was about low to mid 60s very little humidity with a slight breeze.

ESP off, sport mode, held 3rd gear (my 3rd can go to about 110mph when you hold it.)

With out a doubt, Charlie is hands down a better driver than me, but he did his 12.7 with a tune, cai, & cat back. (no headers or torque converter), that just blows my mind! *sigh*

13.1 is decent, but I was totally hoping for a 12.5, 12.6, or 12.7 with my mods? Oh well.

Time for a ported TB & Intake, and a LS3 hot cam.

I did think of something. I don't have the Powerbond Underdrive Pulley & I am just running Valvoline conventional 5w-30. I need to go full synthetic very soon.

You have to get the UDP. I installed my LT's yesterday, but the ass dyno tells me the UDP was better for acceleration then the LT's.

Dont be disappointed. Some cars are "factory freaks" I have had 3 counting the G8. My Mach 1 with 300 miles and no air filter ran 12.95, 87 T-type with a couple of mods ran 13.0. Driving has a lot to do with it, but did you spin? What did it shift at? How much gas was in it?

I run the stock 19s @ 31 lbs

But you have been racing a L-O-N-G time too... No doubt that helps because I know DAMN well I couldn't get in your car and pull the times you have.

I am not even trying to get close to you because I would have to have a lot more talent to do so.

Those are really good times. I wish I had those 60' times!

I've only had 5 runs (ever) and not enough time to try all the combinations of Transmission modes and launch styles.

I've read of guys getting good times with 30 psi in the rear and launching at idle and others getting their best runs with 35 psi and a 1500 rpm launch. Then mix in Normal and Sport modes and it get even more compicated. I think there is a little more to be had with mine, given my limited mods but it will take sorting our the launch. If i could get my 60' times down it would be great. My trap speed of 106.77 is pretty reasonable with my mods I think. My best time and trap was done with my best 60' of 2.031 sec.

The driver makes a difference for sure. Making sure the cars are equal is a HUGE factor. If I have 4 gallons of gas and he has a full tank, thats a little over 80lbs right there. Location is another variable that is not factored by many also. Being at sea level is a ET advantage with or without humidity.

I had 4 gallons of gas in the car. Maybe my weight has something to do with it, I weigh 261 lbs.

Man, maybe I should do a treadmill weight reduction mod!

I'd still like to see a 0-60 dashhawk graph of your car.

Me too, I'll have to hook up with someone that has one & do a 0-60 run.....

No its not your weight, I weigh 235.

Then maybe I should drive it. I weigh 165 soaking wet with a winter coat on. :bpress:

Its always the thinner people that want to drive my car. I think there are a few that did weight watchers just to get in the drivers seat! LOL

No weight watchers here....when I graduated from HS I weighed 128. Thirty years
and about 40 pounds later....people still say I need to gain some weight.

What would be really good Mike is if you could get to the track when the VMS guys are there so they can log your car. If thats not possible try and get someone else to log your car whilst racing. You can't beat data gained from racing . I have improved everytime I go back to the track because we learn something each time I run my car. In fact I know I can pick up another tenth maybe with what we learned last time out. :bump2:

cheers

I made 3 passes tonight and didn't think to log any of them.

From all I've read and experienced driving these cars, my opinion is (which probably doesn't matter to anyone) that the overly complex, electronically controlled transmission is the problem with getting these cars to work right at the drags and be consistant. If they had a decent turbo trans with a good manual shift valve body that would shift WHERE and WHEN you wanted to then they would run a hell of a lot better at the track. The engine is there, the transmission is crap, in my not so humble opinion. :)

I actually agree completely.

This is the same trans that the Corvette has , with a little patience and tuning this trans. is going to work out just fine. To switch to a turbo trans (350-400) you would than have to change rear gears to compansate for the gear ratios in the turbo trans . This seem to be reverse technology.

It might seem reverse but I'm pretty sure it would work, unlike these turds we have now (for some of us anyway).

Call it reverse technology or what you will, but it works. And I had an '06 Vette and it didn't have the DOD crap so it's not exactly the same transmission.

DoD is in the engine, not the transmission.

Yea, DOD is not a factor in this problem.

You're right...I wasn't thinking right. I still don't like the transmission. :)
