Anyone else with a check engine light on @ about 1K miles on the odometer?

Why don't you take it somewhere and have them tell you what the code is? Or just have the dealer deal with it.

Make sure your gas cap is on tight..Hit the onstar button they can check it for u.

Yeah, have Onstar check it. Just say you got a check engine light and you don't know what it's for, could you run a diagnostic check for me?

Most of the time On-Star will try and dumb it down for you like, "Well sir, it looks like there is a problem with the emission system in your vehicle, you should take it into the dealership for further troubleshooting." But if you ask them what the code number is they usually tell, if your run into someone who is stubborn just hang up and call again.

I'm guessing the gas cap trick worked. That happened to me once back in September and hasn't happened since...until earlier today that is. (long tube headers without the revised tune)

This is where SuperChips comes in handy too. Can read codes and delete them.
