So I stripped out one of the rear O2 sensors while removing the stock, well, MF catback, exhaust system. Does anybody know if a local auto parts store sales these O2 sensors? I have not been able to find a local source online that does but maybe they are under a different vehicle then the G8.

BTW. The ARH LT's look damn sweet. Very solid system.

Thanks for any help.

You didnt strip them, it is a issue though. Check anyone that sells Delco including Dealers as a last resort.

Charlie, he may have. I'd say one out of every 4 we remove from anything 04+ strips :\ I dont *think* any local places will have them. Kirk posted the part #'s on the other board because someone else had the same issue :(

Bummer. I may have to find a plug until I can get one installed.

VMS, I am sure I will be needing a tune after this is done, the RPM limiter increased, and the stealth.

The only reason it happens is galling of the threads due to lack of anti-seize. I have done 6 exhaust system/headers and have not had 1 issue, but I spray Kroil on the 02 before removal and chase all threads and apply anti-seize before install.

Yeah the factory puts ZERO lube on these things, AeroKroil can help but we still see way more than we'd like particularly on GTO's G8's :(

:offtopic:Kroil and Shooters Choice, mixed 2 to 1, is one of the best bore cleaners ever invented.:hijack:

Well, I guess I will lube these things up before reinstalling them. Now I have to find a plug until I can get the sensor in the mail.

I guess having it plugged with out the sensor will only thow codes and not damage anything. Is that correct?

Thanks again guys,

Should have no effect as long its a rear.

Finally all installed but have been driving around town trying to find a rear O2 sensor with no luck. Does anybody have a good idea on how to plug this up until I can get one ordered? Anybody know the thread size/parameters?

I want to fire this thing up, but not with a big hole right after the cats........

Thanks,
-Robert

I had a problem with 1 out of 4 , when I took them out of the stock pipe . I had to heat the pipe cherry red to get it out. I believe it's 14 mm but not sure , I'll check and post later. when I installed them into the Kooks I used hi temp anti sieze, and chased both male and female threads.

Thanks man. I am also using some high temp anti-seize for future use. If you can get that thread size to me, that would be huge.
Thanks,
Robert

18 mm. It is a standard 02 sensor bung plug. Check with an exhaust shop.
