Sunday, 11/15, Island Dragway

If the weather holds up, I'll be heading out to Island dragway sunday morning to get some final times in before the winter. Previous best is 12.4 and I KNOW I can beat that. Track is Island dragway in Great Meadows, New Jersey, test and tune in the morning. Gates open at 10 am, close at 4 pm, you can make as many passes as you want.

If anybody is free and wants to head up there, please do, I'll be there.

Also looking forward to better 1/4 trap speeds. From what I gather, E-town seems to be stingy on the trap speeds. Stock G8's, even in the perfect weather don't seem to trap any higher than 97 to 98 mph. Sultech, with his mods (ARH Long tubes, Roto-fab CAI, 93 tune), his best trap speed was 104 at E-town, which I trapped with nothing but a tune at Island Dragway last year.

Just line up and inch up until you see both rows of the stage lights light up to indicate your were your supposed to be, wait for the green, and mash the pedal as soon as you see it or even right before it for an awsome reaction time, and just hold it until your at the end. Once you pass the huge score boards, brake lol. Repeat again until your satisfied. If you spin, roll into the throttle rather than mash it.

It spun hard, I tried 1500rpm. It spun enough to kick the car a bit to the right on launch. 1200-1300 seems to be the sweet spot with 14lbs in the tires.

The next time out, I'll have a 1.6x 60'.

LMAO!! I just saw this now, can't believe I missed it!

Not to down your intake or anything, but I think that played an enormous factor in the times lol. Just way to head soak prone. Material gets very hot, no heat shield so it's pulling air from the engine bay, and the tubing has a smaller diameter than the throttle body. The stock intake may have been better LOL!

Get yourself a vararam and tune, and you won't regret it! I still have my roto-fab. Take that in the mean time. My gift to you lol

13.5 @ 105ish, .560 R/T with a 2.2 60'. Not bad for my first time EVER at a track, I was pretty much clueless on what to do, I felt kinda dumb. :hang:

Anyways, It was definately fun. I saw some sick G8's and cars and stuff. I need to work on my launch, and when I am WOT and the car goes from 1-2 and 2-3 the car chirps the tires and it shifts very hard, hard to the point that the entire car jerks. I have the VMS TCM tune, whatever the harder shift one is, and I think if I go back to something a little easier I will get those times down a bit. My goal is for like 13.1-13.2 before the headers...with the tune/vararam

Never have, and won't until I get some drag radials...and better front brakes so I can light 'em up lol. My car would of probably been doing cart wheel's down the track if I got those tires wet and tried to run lol. My front brakes are definitely shot. I can barely keep the car from lurching forward at idle!
