I went into the engineering mode today and performed the self test. I noticed that there is a light indicator similar to the fog light but amber in color. Anyone know what it is? Regular headlights and fog lights do not correspond to this indicator on the dash. Interesting yes?:secret:

I have the same indicator also on the GT. There is an indicator that is "1->4" that I was curious about too.

It only works if you have the flux capacitor option

The 1-4 I'm going to guess is the skip shift indicator for the manual cars.
I assume the light the OP is referring to is the one in the top row of indicators, 2 over from the left turn signal? I'd go grab my manual to see if it mentions anything in there, but I have a 5 month old by my side that I cant exactly leave unattended for 10 seconds lol :p

Rear fogs. Not equipped on this car but it is a requirement on European cars. The Vauxhall no doubt has them. (leaves one brake light brighter than the other while driving with your lights on. And this means that no, every Audi or Volvo you see on the road with one brighter brake light does not have wiring issues. :) )

And the winner is? I think you are right. I keep forgetting this car is sold everywhere but here. Should have known since mine keeps telling me that my "Active Fuel Management Systems" are working. Pretty good for the 6 cylinder, must mean I go from 6 to 4 to 2.
Thanks for clearing it up. You know it would have been a nice feature on the U.S. cars. Guess GM doesn't think we get fog here.

The rear foglight on the Vauxhall is down low, in the diffuser. But yeah, on alot of european cars they are located in the taillight assembly.

The VXR Monaro was the same way.

What is the green light on the left after the turn signal.
I have a Vauxhall VXR8 and the rear fog light is in the middle of the rear difusser,

At least they are pretty colors for you to look at.

what is the purpose of that light? To blind drivers who are tail-gating you? I've always wanted to install something like that.

its for when its really fogggy so the car behind doesn't go into the back of you.
how come you guys have day time running lights? what do they look like? are they like the ones Audi's and BMW's have?

Nope, just the normal headlights are on for daytime running lamps, but at a lower voltage. That's why if we swap to HID's we either need a harness so they pull power from the battery, or disable the daytime running lamps, as the voltage isn't enough for the ballasts.

Daytime running lamps are required in canada. Most cars have them in the states now also.

Annnd to compensate for the lack of something like that, drivers here in the US turn on their emergency flashers. Problem is, this is a terrible idea because then you can't tell if they're planning to change lanes. They start coming over without warning with both of their blinkers still flashing just as pretty as you please. If it's an absolute downpour, that's one thing. But if you can still see the rear window, trunk, wheels, and most everything else of the car in front of you, emergency flashers aren't needed and are more of a danger than a help.
Sorry, pet peeve of mine.

oh. i just find it weird that americans have been on the road for over a 100 years and we've never had anything like this on our cars.
