Read this on svtperformance just curious if this is anyone from here.


"The story goes that my friend, the owner of a Pontiac G8 GT (Intake, Headers, Catless Mid-Pipe, SLP Powerflow CB, and a mail order tune) Outran a 03/04 Cobra.

He claims they raced from a roll 3 times and he got him each time by 2 or 3 lengths. I dont know the car but even if it was bone stock i have a hard time believing it.

This happened awhile ago but he claims he saw the car again and took a pic of it and sent it to me.

After reading the SVT thread, it sure seems people have a hard time swallowing the fact that their purty little Mustang got pulled on by a 'grocery getter'.

Honestly I expected a bunch of G8 bashing there and im impressed with their comments about the car.

They are badass. I was looking at one but my wife made me get a 4door for when we have kids... although they are more of a roll race car then a drag race car.(not that they cant drag just excel at roll racing)

I'd like to put a termi cobra motor in my foxbody. :wacko:

Be careful of what you wish for. The 03-04 Cobras have a assload of potential, they don't have near the driving ergonomics or room that the G8 has. Remember your experience with the Camaro, now imagine the shifter is 6 inches further forward. I really enjoyed the power of my 04 but as far as comfort, the G8's are far and away better.

I didn't say I would get rid of the G8.
