For those of you that don't know, Brian and Kaltech did a tune for me and we were having some issue's with the car shifting too early, earlier than what it was set at. Today I had him put the car back to start so I can get the TSB at the dealer for the tranny shifting from 3rd to 4th, and at WOT WITH COMPLETELY STOCK TUNING and no mod's what so ever, car shifts at 5600???!!! What the hell is up with my tcm? hopefully this tsb fixes this. So weird. Im guessing this hasn't happened to anyone else. Maybe when I put the pedal to the floor, it's not going to WOT for some reason. I really don't know.

What gear and in what mode are you seeing the 5600RPM shift?

first gear to second, in both regular drive mode and sport mode.

Ok does it shift correctly for awhile then it just starts shifting at 5600?

It's actually inconsistent. It's been from 5600 to 5800 but never quite to 6k. Does it everytime at WOT

You sure the floormat isnt in the way? Also keep an eye on trans temp via Engineering mode and let me know what it is when it shifts at 5600.

oh yeah I know that movie. End bothered me when that scrawny kid kicked the shit out of it and it fell out the window. Still don't understand the relation to me and Ferris Beuller though.

OH and did the shifting thing in engineering mode. Highest trans temp I saw was 81 with hard shifting. Car still kept shifting at 56-58 rpm. It was around 78 degree's for most of the WOT's.

He was saying that because he was waiting for a reply, like in the movie.

K I got the CAI in and I'm loving it so far. Was a bit more tricky then I thought it would be only because of all the parts. I thought it would only be the filter, tube and the box. While installing this, I saw more of the the lower panel mod is all about and I can see how that would work VERY well. That's also coming up next before the track. I didn't get the HSRK in yet but looks simple as hell. All the work there really is, is the drilling. Other than that, it's just plugging it in. That's were my QUESTION comes in. What exactly is a "stepper" drill bit and exactly what size should I use with the supplied grommet? I slid the grommet on it already which wasn't very easy.

shit! I don't have one of those lol. Is there a particular size im supposed to use? Directions didn't specify, it only said make a hole just big enough for the temp sensor to fit. I really don't wanna mess up the hole on a new intake.

oh the car started shifting at 6k after driving around with the update for a while.

Only Ray would have a pic of a stepper bit. lol

If they are supplying the GM Vette grommet, you want a .700" hole. .050" LESS than 3/4".

I got in the HSRK right were charlie show's on his thread on how to install the HSRK. Only thing is, I used the grommet and he didn't. Mine wiggles a bit due to the curve of the neck of the intake but it pretty tight otherwise. Is this ok???

It should be. If you are concerned, a little bit of black RTV should hold it.
