I've switched over to a 401-Keg. I'm still losing money but don't seem to care as much.

I need a new job. My employer doesn't offer a 401-Keg?

I liquidated my Edward Jones account about 3 months ago. It's all sitting in my bank savings now. It may not be gaining much but it's not losing like it was before.

Do not pull your money out! In fact continue to buy! It is called dollar cost averaging and all those in the financial world will tell you this! You are now buying more stocks than you did a few weeks or months ago. This is good. You have to think long term.

Buy car parts! You know you wont get your $$ out of them, but you get the enjoyment now and spent your $$ instead of losing it and sanity!

Shit I lost enough $$$$$$$$$$ in the last two weeks that I could have bought a
6spd GXP and a auto GXP. And my money was in low risk funds because I'm getting up there in age. A few ticks short of the half centurt mark.

That can be worse than the market both in terms of lost $ and lost sanity.

It's funny, because I have been mostly out of the market for the past 18 months. During the run-up last year, I was feeling a bit gloomy, but when I see that I have been clicking away at 3.x% Money Market returns, I am in a pretty good place. Now is the time to get BACK into the market w/ lots of bargains out there!

I don't think the bleeding has stopped yet.

I think we'll see some people getting back in. There are some stocks that were way over sold. IMO.
Over 7 trillion of wealth was wiped out in the sell off though.

The National Debt Clock in New York has run out of digits for the first time.

US federal government’s national debt is now at about $10.2 trillion.

Your share $86017.00 and the goverment would like to know when to expect payment LOL

The Durst Organization says it plans to update the sign next year by adding two digits. That will make it capable of tracking debt up to a quadrillion dollars. Makes you feel all fuzzy inside.

I wish I had more money to put into the stock market right now. If I had a large amount of disposable income I'd be buying real estate and stocks right now. I don't think we've hit bottom yet but I think the free fall will start to slow down.

I guess we won't have to worry about GM not honoring our warranties due to mods; I don't think they are going to make it that long.

At least they clipped the century mark.

Sad news!

I finally gave in...bought a bunch of CAT today. The price is just to stinkin' cheap. Five years from now, people will be kicking themselves for selling out at this point. The Dow is on sale.

BTW: I am really looking forward to more panic, further bargains in both the stock market AND in parts for the G8.

Asia is melting.

Nikkei is down 10%, circuit breakers kicked in and stopped trading. Does not bode well for NYSE tomorrow. No trading on Monday, no one is going to want to be in over the long holiday...

LOL That's what I'm saying. It will be my luck that GM pulls the plug on the shipment that my GXP is on. :confused2:

The Canadian dollar is sinking fast. I should have bought all my car parts a couple months ago. Now I will have to pay a 15-20% premium on anything I buy from the USA, where a year ago, I would have had a small discount.
