I met up with a couple other G8ers today at TriState Dragway near Cincinnati. First time I have ever drag raced, so I had the usual jitters, but I am pretty satisfied.

My first run was a 13.468 @ 105.75, 2.078 60'

Mods are Vararam with HSRK, Corsa cat-back, and Superchips tune. I used the 93 tune, 100% Superchips value for TM, all other settings standard. Used sport mode, TC on, hit lever to hold 3rd.

Next run I had a little more confidence and turned off TC.

Second run was a 13.281 @ 106.99, 2.061 60'

After that pulled into pits to cool off and spectate, then went back out for another run.

Third run was back up to 13.486 @ 105.75, 2.078 60'

Waited for another run but there was a track incident they had to clean up and it got too late, so I had to take off.

I was really fighting wheelspin at gear changes, especially the last run. I have the crappy 18" Goodyear Eagle RSA all-seasons, so I obviously could use some good tires.

I was thinking if I get the chance to go out again this year I might try the 50% TM to limit the wheelspin somewhat. What do you think?

Temp was about 55, elevation is about 633 feet. Time slips are attached.

excellent...and if you had no spin with some summers, maybe 13.0 or even a 12.9!

Nice! I'm still trying to get a chance to take mine to the track. It would be my first time as well, and I'd be thrilled with numbers like that!

Very nice indeed. I was hating not being there today! Maybe next time.
Welcome to the club dude.

There was a full size 1 ton mid 90's Dodge Ram w/ slicks on it @ tri-state. Running big turbo's and big slicks(used to be a dualie) @ the track. It had 380,000 on it on the original motor. It was a BEAST. Was running mid 12's all day but had serious traction issues off the line and all the way down the track. Every time it shifted gears it kicked sideways. Looked pretty damn scary to me when he was hitting 100 and kicking it sideways. Some really fast cars there, a few in the 9's, and an absolutely smoking hot little blond chick in a mid 12's 2010 Mustang.
I digress

My best run.

R/T - .113
60' - 2.085
330 - 5.843
1/8 - 8.899
MPH - 80.56
1000 - 11.489
1/4 - 13.655
MPH - 104.31

My other two runs were in the 13.7's This was on a stock tune w/ only Vararam installed on Wednesday and HSRK. :) I guess I'm happy. It's not too bad! right?

crap, post whoring. Also, Marty and I lined up for our last run. He had a much better reaction time, but our runs were almost identical - I ran 13.781 @ 103.78 and he ran 13.783 @ 103.04. only difference is I have Vararam. He has axle back. Is this the result you would expect? or do I need to let my vararam run for longer before I expect any results. It feels stronger, even though some ppl say I shouldn't be able to feel it. I love the sound of it though, but I'm with Jay. It looks like a Kirby!!!!

Hey Curt, your car did great. Now we need to see you and Kevin line them up. It would be a good race...

Yeah, I was wondering how much of an improvement the Kooks axle backs gave me? I've heard that they don't do squat, but I wish I would have run it with the stock mufflers first. Maybe I'll put the stocks back on and run it again for a base line.

I might do the same for the stock airbox. Maybe my car is a turd 13.9+ without the Vararam. Who knows.

I need to get out again! I want to tweak the Superchips settings a little to see if I can stop some of the wheelspin. Had a blast, definitely hooked now. Good meeting up with the two of you.

Doesn't the Cortex raise the rev limiter/shift point enough to not have to fuss with holding it in 3rd manually through the traps?

And....traction control ON???

Sorry I was chicksh!t the first time down the track, LOL. After that I left it off. Did have to correct it when wheelspin was bringing the back end around a little on the second run. Third run was spinning but stayed straight. Nothing wrong with being cautious when you have not done this before!

Yes, try more TM. At 50% I need more help from the computer still to keep from spinning 1-2, which has caused dreadful early shifting into 3rd.
