Anyone sealed their hood vents yet?

I want to seal my hood vents to prevent water from entering the engine bay. Anyone tried this yet? If so, what did you use? I don't want to start from scratch unless I have too.:)

The vents are used to dissipate engine bay heat. It might not be wise to seal them off.

I figured since the Holden VE's do not have the vents that it was more for show.
