Pretty cool Salvation Army fund-raiser held at VIR in Danville, VA Click for Map (http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&source=hp&q=danville,+va&ie=UTF8&gl=us&ei=NGrNSpbIAZHk8Qa90tX4Aw&hq=&hnear=Danville,+Virginia&ll=36.559773,-79.202886&spn=0.016512,0.051198&t=h&z=15) on Friday Nov. 13th. I have been the past two years, unfortunately last year it was raining:( , but they ran the event "Rain or Shine" and I still had a blast.

Basically it is a day long event full of paced parade laps (no passing) but even though it's paced I was still able to get up to about 120 on the back straight.

A donation of $25 gets you about 6-7 laps a session, however many sessions you can get in depends on the crowd.

I believe the gates open around 9:00 but will find out closer to time.

If anyone from the Raleigh or Durham area would like to go myself and a couple of members from LS1GTO.com will be meeting at Bob Evans at Brier Creek and then caravan up to the track. Again, not sure on the time, but it will probably be around 8:30-9:00

Holiday Laps is VIR's annual Salvation Army fund-raiser. For a donation of cash, new toys or non-parishable foods, guests can drive their own cars around VIR's classic Full Course, the same track that has seen some of the best drivers in history challenged by the twists and turns. Holiday Laps givesd fans the chance to sample the thrill of driving VIR while helping others at the same time.

I'd love to, but there's no way I'd be able to miss work on a Friday. Otherwise, I'd be there. Have fun!

... Man, that's tempting. I even work in the Brier Creek area. Unfortunately, I'm in the same boat of needing to work.

I am going to try and make this event for sure. I have been wanting to really test my Pedders suspension on a track. I am going to look into a braking upgrade now as I believe it would be the next most important upgrade.

For anyone in the Raleigh area that is going:

Right now the plan is to meet at Brier Creek at Bob Evans around 8:15 and leave around 9:00. There is a McDonalds beside it if some don't want to eat a B.E. If you don't want to meet up then that's cool, we'll just see you at the track.
