Finally got my redemption runs in...

Last friday (see my other thread) I only got one run in and ran a 13.9@105 on a 2.3 60'..

Got 9 runs in tonight when I went..

Best pass of the night:

107.93____MPH

Must say that I was quite impressed with my car tonight...

To note: completely bone stock, absolutely NO weight reduction, on the stock 19's @ 34psi (Bridgestone Potenza RE050A's)

Now I have my stock baseline... it's on to modding...

And syP... what were you saying about my G8 being a slouch? ;)

That is an AWESOME stock time. Heck, you are trapping faster than my GXP, and your ET is only a couple tenths slower. This is proof of what a good launch in good air can accomplish. My hat's off to you! Keep up the good work. Now I want to race at 935 DA and see what I can do!

i still had that GTP up until about 10 months ago... that video is probably almost 5 years old now, haha. good times, good times.

and i'm still trapping faster than your modded g8 with my BONE STOCK one ;)

this list look familiar:


- Intake
- Kooks LT Header/Xpipe with a Flowmaster 40 axleback
- 3200 Stall with trans cooler
- 275/40/17 MT ET streets
- 50 wet shot

your car must be a beast. Running your trap through a HP calculator shows that for a 4000 pound car you are putting out about 420HP. That is a freak!

Something seems wrong thats 3-4mph higher trap than any other GT Ive seen something just doesnot match w/ a 2.03 60ft and 108 trap should be a 12.90-13.0*. If it is right you def got a runner.

Working on getting the timeslip scanned/posted...

THe font is so light, 2 different scanner's I've tried are hardly picking up the font and they don't come out legible...

I'll figure something out and hopefully get the slip posted tonight...

Some old school Nova or something... he let off at the 1/8th... look at his 1/8th and 1/4 MPH...

He let off at the 1/8th and coasted the rest of the way....

Oh yea, it was definitely LOUD as hell... haha... I couldn't hear my car at all until he was, ummmm, "out of my way" so to speak (i.e.: halfway down the track before I started it seemed)

Wow nice run... makes me want to take my car out one more time in the nice cold weather. How do you figure your faster than SYP? He's low to mid 12's IIRC

LOL, I know he is...

Me and syP go way back to the clubgp/3800 days... and have been on the same forums for years...

Just giving him shit is all... because he jokingly called my G8 a slouch last week when I made a 13.99@105 pass on a 2.3 60'... considering I used to have a freak of a GTP... see my other thread for where it started ;)

SEEING that vid made my heart sink a little, and I missed my GTP. it wasn't seeing your car as much as it was listening to that Eaton whine.. I had same mods as u just add the VS grind cam to your list. :) u could say it would scoot.

Yes the l67's do scoot! My regal gs went 13.81 @ 101, the same night evan ran his pb of 13.4 @ 107.9

Only mods are:
3.4 pulley
gutted stock airbox
3" down pipe w/ stock exhaust
Ported front manny
Evan's custom tune

Did you run with the TC on or off? Did you leave it in drive or did you shift? Because I went Thursday and with my mods I did a 13.2.

Im almost positive he was driving it in esp mode until third gear with traction off. then he pulled the shifter back into manual mode and held 3rd gear out thru the traps. The car flat out flys, plus he can drive, and he is only 140lbs after soaking in a bathtub all night lol.:nud:

Well, I've never seen a for real stock G8 GT post a 108 mph trap speed ... the et was believable, just not the trap speed, even on a 51 degree night. When I hear someone say stock I assume they mean "off the showroom floor" with absolutely no fiddling or tuning or modifications in any way shape or form.

Car is bone stock...

Only things I've done to the car are remove the giant plastic engine cover and put washers in the exhaust so it makes SOME noise...

Other than that, it is 100% unmodified/untouched. Oh, it does have window tint, too...AND it's debadged (tons of weight reduction in badges alone) ;)

And, as uncleLSgrandpaGS pointed out... :nah: I only weigh 140lbs on a good day... ;)

To the other question about how I drove it..

I launched at ~1100RPM in Sport Shift mode, ESP OFF, and once it shifted into 3rd, I pulled the shifter back to hold out 3rd gear in Manual mode through the traps (was hitting the rev limiter through the traps...)

That is a fast trap speed for only a 13.453! Wow. That is really a freak if it hasn't been touched. I'm sure your weight helps some, but it's not worth that much time. I was only hitting 104.3, but I'm a big dude. Nice runs

Was that his first or second G8? I think he traded in one because it didn't have bluetooth. I hope he didn't trade in THAT G8 just because it didn't have bluetooth. That thing was a freak.
