View Full Version : Read the $%&$*% manual!

So with the weather cooling down around here, my tires were 3-4 lbs low. I decided to use the onboard air compressor to bump them up, mostly to make sure the compressor worked.

So I plug it in, flip the key to ACC, and without even thinking, flip the switch on the compressor to ON.

Fucking tire sealant shot all over the floor of my garage. Thank god the hose was pointing away from the car, not at it (the car door was open too).

I'm assuming these sealant cans are one-time use only? The hose is full of sealant and I would guess the hose will be sealed shortly.

Moral of the story - read the fucking manual before using the compressor!

LOL! Not really though. I always thought of directions as that persons idea of how it should be done, not mine! I guess in SOME cases they could be right!

When I read the manual about that stuff, I thought it was way too
complicated. Much better to have/buy a separate can of fix-a-flat
from Pep Boys, and a separate inflator/compressor.

Where did tire sealant come from? I used the G8 compressor to air up my lawn mower tire and didn't see any sealant shoot out from anywhere.

The can of sealant is attached to the compressor. If you don't remove the air hose from the can before you start the compressor, the compressed air enters the can of sealant and shoots it out the clear plastic hose on the compressor. You were smarter than I was, you took the air hose off the can and put it on your lawnmower tire before you started the compressor.

That's all a pain in the ass. I've gotta get a spare tire. Does the G8 have a bolt pattern like a chevy or something with a donut spare?

The bolt pattern is 5 X 120mm.

I use nitrogen...

Sorry to hear about your ordeal but at least it didn't go IN the tire right?
