Me and a friend of mine want to buy an old beaten up car like a 67 or 69 GTO that's all broken down and busted up for cheap, then fix it all up. I was looking at the Big Block GM motor's from pace performance and noticed that many require 110 to 112 octane. How would you get that kinda fuel? Octane booster? I know right now I seem like i don't know nearly enough to do something like that but now I am learning and enjoy this stuff, and we are gonna have help from a friend that has been a mechanic for over 20 years.

You can get 110 through alot of motorcycle shops in 55 gal drums. The one I used to run in my motocross bikes was VP Racing fuels 110 oct. it ran about $8 a gallon.

ok not bad. It's not gonna be a daily driver thats for sure lol. Either lookin for an old Chevelle or GTO. I like the GTO's a bit more.
Here's what I want to pop in it hehehe...

oh and that VP 110 was the lowest oct. available. At least at that shop, and you can buy it by the gallon too.

Can't the motor be detuned for 93?

It probably can but is probably not worth it. I bet they sell other motor's that run off 93 that would probably produce around the same power than if you de-tune this motor for 93. If I ever start making enough money I'm definitely gonna do this. I love this stuff and am trying to learn as much as I can about this stuff. I wish there was a college corse on it lol.
