OK. So let's cut to the chase. Anyone care to list the performance shops that are or will be capable of removing the DOD cam & valve train and installing a performance cam? I live in Florida, so one close by would be very much appreciated.

Florida is a rather big area...

Sure is WreckWriter. And one would think there would be plenty of high performance shops able to handle this type of engine work, would you not?

What's the best place in New York/Jersey to install a cam? I was told New Era is very good.

You guys in New York & New Jersey have it made! No one is even responding to this post, so far, as far as Florida goes. How about it you guys! GRRRR8, you must know every wrench this side of the Mississippi, what would you recommend?

One thing to remember, when you do the cam you will need to have the car re-tuned. Just to get it to run, it will need the tune. The computer won't know what to do with the new cam.

I never have had much luck at recommending anything that I do not have a personal experience with, so therefore I dont. I know that there has to be a facility in Fla that can perform this for you, or Texas might not be that far if you want to visit me.

No doubt there are but if that's as much as you're willing to narrow it down I'm not real sure how to advise you.

Hey, that's great! I'm sure I'll be up in Lexington again in the not to distant future. Tell me a bit more. What cam do you recommend, how much dinero, how long to do an install and tune, etc.? We can always switch out the shorties for the LT's, I don't care really. I just really like the sound from the upgrades you did cause it's so close to stock. I guess with LT's and a cam it would be considerably louder, wouldn't it?

Kirk, I had no idea that you actually have a good cam package that works well with this engine. I don't think I'm going to do the cam upgrade this year, it'll be next year in the spring most probably, so keep me posted of any developements as regards a cam upgrade, would you please.
