so i stoped by a local dealer today to visit a buddie of mine..and a gto caught my eye...so i pulled up next to it and got out and was looking around it...then a salesman walked up and said aww ready to upgrade to the real thing huh? and i was like huh? he said that g8 cant touch what this gto can put out. and i didnt argue with him because it wasnt worth it but he was putting my g8 down left and right. so what is the real deal behind the gto 5.7?

they are rated at 350 hp

now if were the ls2 with 400 and 400, then you might have a problem

5.7 GTOs are a joke! Pontiac fucked up when they released that turd as it effected the sales of the future real GTOs. They could not give them away once people found out. No different then the 1st SSRs, JOKE! Then the 6.0 SSRs could be had for 30k because nobody cared anymore.

Yeah I wouldnt worry about a LS1 GOAT too much. Its an underpowered car for the weight. Now like SRG said the LS2s could be a problem. lol

LS2's (05-06) are a different story. 50 more hp, better brakes, and GM added the hood scoops and a nicer rear bumper.

I go against the grain on this one. while They are slower then their LS2 rivals they are nothing to sneeze at. I actually like the LS1 cars better. More stealth :D

actually I would rather spend 6-7k less, buy an 04, and use that money for head/cam/headers/tune/and exhaust... :D

it's a matter of opinion which one looks better. I actually prefer the plain jane 04 look... And as far as modability I am pretty certain i can overcome the ls1/ls2 debate with my line of work... :D And as far as the brakes... that's why god invented after market companies :D
