So I really haven't had as much luck as some in looking for a winter beater up here lol. So i'm looking at tires, and wanted to know how people felt about the Goodyear Eagle GT's. They are rated 8 for snow traction on their website. I can get them for around 220ish a piece installed locally. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I know the blizzak's are supposed to be awesome, but money is super tight at the moment and I need tires shortly. Thanks.

A dedicated snow tire is going to be better than anything when it comes to snow and such.

Mich Xice2 and Blizzaks are rated the best.

I have the Blizzaks and they ARE amazing. On ice I would have never thought it possible to do what I can with them.

I used Hankook Icebears last year and they were great. I went to a 17inch setup. So for the snows on rims cost only $1,000 from Discount Tire

What size were the tires? I'm on the site right now. Where did you have them installed?

Alright for the guy who doesn't know jack about getting wheels with tires....Does this wheel match the 235/55r -17 IceBear W300 Hankook tire listed on the site?

If so, sweet. Is it a really bad thing if i run without the tpms system for the winter?

It's not a bad thing to run without TPMS...just annoying :)

Your car will yell at you every time you get in (and for longer trips, it will continue to yell at you every once in awhile)

It drove me nuts for the few days I ran with a busted valve stem and no TPMS sensor.

And that wheel looks like it will work. You might consider going with a 225/55 tire if possible. 235 will work, but your speedo will be off by just a hair (about 1 mph slower than your actually going at 60mph)...and the circumference of the tire is a bit bigger than OEM. You probably won't encounter any rubbing, but it's possible.

whoa they have winter iPike W409's for 107 a piece, but they are only T Speed Rating...though that shouldn't matter cuz i'm not speeding around in em. Would that Wheel size work for the 225/55's still?

If i get those tires and the wheels mentioned above, the "out the door" price is 875, plus tax i'm sure. That's SWEET

I don't have TPMS on my winter wheels and once you hit the button to stop it's flashing on the DIC the little yellow indicator stays on but I could care less. It was a lot cheaper without them.

I ran Michelin Pilot Alpin PA2s last winter. They are pricey but are great tires.

Is there any issues with running snow tires on 19's?

...other than the tires costing about 2.5x as much...

Im selling 4 aftermarket wheels they look like new audi a4 wheels and they have new 225/40/18 Goodyear ultragrip performance winter tires on them. The lug pattern is 5x114.3. Two of the rims have some curb rash but nothing major. .

SOrry for the ignorance but would these fit?

If you do get a dediacted wheels set for winter then you can keep the extra wheel in the car as we do.

I know money is an issue but here is what I did.

Tire rack Elbrus rims 18x8 $140 each
Tpms four wheels $160
Blizzak LM22 245/45/28 $636.00
Shipping was $118 to my door.

I looked for the LM22s on tire rack and I do not see them anymore. I bought the tires on supposed close out in mid summer. Have yet to try them in snow yet as three are sitting in the garage and one in the trunk. Once we get snow on the ground I will put them on. I have test fit one and there are no fit issues.
