Resonator

Can anyone comment on the air intake resonator located between MAS and the throttle body. I have asked several mechanics and they cannot tell me what is it's purpose and if it will improve performance if replaced. It is big and bulky and impossible to clean. I replaced mine on my Camaro with a cermanic coated aluminum air intake horn.

It is a silencer of sorts. Manufacturers are required to control noise levels. Get rid of it to smooth your airflow out.

Yeah, I had one in my G6 and I ripped it out when I put in a CAI and car sounded much better!

THAT would be a place I would NEVER go to get work done lol...

Just ti was said.. just keeps things quieter. I put in a Volant Cold Air Intake and love it... Nice and sealed up top.

Eliminate all of that messy tubing with a CAI. Got a Rotofab for my GXP and not only does it look better under the hood but the sound is AMAZING!
