If its an 09, you better have a shit load of mods and hope he cant drive.

All the other ones it just takes a few mods to run with them or beat them.

So, if someone buys an '09 CTS-V, what really else is there to mod? I guess a better quesiton is, what are '09 V owners putting down on the Dyno and what mods?

i ran one off a light through the first two gears when the gxp was bone stock and had like 700 miles on it. i think it was like an 04-06 or whatever. some kid i went to HS with, he said nice car!, i said nice car! he asked 400? i said yeah, the light turned green, we both rolled a little in first, then he slammed and i followed within a nanosecond. it was dead even until like 70 or so.

The bone stock CTS-V only put down 420rwhp?? That can't be right. Then it was tuned up to 470rwhp?

I raced a 2006 CTS-V when my GXP was bone stock with nothing more than transmission tuning and I walked him from a roll at 60mph. From what I eventually learned from some people that knew the owner it was stock so other than transmission tuning it was a pretty even race.

On the new CTS-V if you figure 556hp than take 20% loss which is 110hp loss that would put you around 440 or so to the wheels depending on miles and or break time.

17-18 I think is closer to the drive train loss

I've only seen 2 actually out, new anyway. One at the track and I could never get paired up and one on the street that I swear Moses was driving so didnt even try to entice. Win or lose I just wanted to play!

I've beat two different 2005-2006 cts-v's (a kid in his early 20's and a guy probably in his mid 40's) with just a vararam intake and vms tune on my g8 gt. The kid's cts-v had an exhaust at the least. He launched that thing so hard, I was waiting to hear his differential break.

My father-in-law just snagged a brand new one a month or so ago. I will have to challenge him to a race sometime and report back on how badly I beat him. ;) HAHA....Right!

I rode along a few weeks ago with him, and man that thing is a BEAST!

I've had a few pass me while I as held up in traffic, bark at me with a couple revs of their engines then put their head in the sand when I finally line up with them, albeit they were 08 and earlier models, I think there might be one 09 in my town, it's a small redneck town, so any one of us yokels who can afford it I'm sure went for one.

We met up with a 2009 CTS-V at the track last week. I had one my friends drive my car cause she always wanted to drag and she did pretty good. Layed the Cts-V out. (I think he wasnt a very good shifter though) My car runs a 12.4 to 12.5 normally now but she did good for being so scared.... two people in my car also. I made a video for it--- she likes that kind of thing.....

With a good driver they are quick, but not unbeatable for modded G8's. The modified ones are a different story, but still beatable:bpress:

We ran a 2009 CTS-V at the track a couple weeks ago-- I think the guy didnt hook or something at the start but it was a good run for a friend of mine in my car (she only raced 1 time before this and red lighted really bad the first time....she was scared and almost pooped herself-- made a little video for her-- the video is really cheasy but she liked it.... and the video was shaking....I was laughing really hard while I was taking it...
