Is GM teasing us or taunting us now?

Just saw the new commercial GM has out with their new CEO, and in the background I noticed this front end piece being rolled behind him. To me, it looks very much like a G8 front end with a Chevy badge and a few other different styling cues, but the general shape seems to be heavily influenced by the G8. I know the rumor mill has been going non-stop with Lutz wanting to bring the car over to Chevy, I wonder if this might mean anything or if its just Government Motors rubbing the salt in our open and bleeding wounds.....

I am down in Australia now for the Holden Racing Team Family day event. They will be announcing the new HSV and Holden models as well as displaying super mod cars (walkinshaw) and prototype vehicles.

More than one guy told me that Chevy is going to pick up the line. It seems to be public knowledge down here.

I will send pics after Sundays event and showcase. If any have Chevy badges, I will be certain to take pics. I certainly hope something is coming our way.

Might be the VE series 2 front end for Africa/Middle East/South America Chevy Luminas (and I think it's called something else in South America, and it's V6 only). Or a Malibu update.

Yeah probably a Malibu update......I just took a look at the entire commercial and it looks like it was filmed at the GM Warren Tech Center. If it was a VE based product, I would expect it to be designed/made at GM's Melbourne Design center.

Nevertheless, still curious on what Duke has to share!

Yeah but youre comparing a current overseas GM model to something that is not an official design. I think the general shape is there, but definitely a bit improved. I'd like to know what it is even if it isn't a G8 revival. It looks pretty nice.

GM blew it with killing Zeta here, but we all know that. Only GM car on my Radar now is CTS-V. GM can kiss my ass with these FWD, weenie mobiles... I owned them before and am never going back.
