Lancer EVO...i thought these were fast

SO commin home from work and 2 kids a Lancer evo darting around in front of me.....well you gotta try em...so i pull up on his ass and he takes off.....rrr trys to take off, so i go up and around him like nothin. Slow back down to about 75 and let him come up to my door. Look over at him and he trys to go by again....not a chance. Maybe modded they might have some go but stock they are s l o w !!!!

They are good from a dig but past the 1/8 mile they die out unless heavy moded.

Exactly.

1. It's always possible it was a plain Lancer or a Ralliart. The same way someone with a GT can buy a GXP diffuser and badges.

2. Evo's are only 291hp stock and about 3300lbs. You have a 75hp advantage stock for stock, although you lose on the weight side of things at 3900lbs.

3. It's the modded ones you need to worry about. Most Evo's with a few hundred dollars can get into the 350whp range. A tune, cams and various supporting mods take you around 400whp. Turbo upgrade? Well now we're more around 460-500whp.

Probably wasn't a Evo ... otherwise you would be far behind. They run low 11's and high 10's with just bolt ons.
We ran 9.7 with a 100% street Evo 9 with 670whp.
8.98 with a street but light one
8.75 with a full interior full glass black evo.

I have only had 2 or 3 races in my car.
One was against an Evo VIII.

It was a real evo, I know what they look like, Nothing like the basic Lancer. (The Evo 8s and 9s) are very different than the Lancer or even the Raliart.

Oh yeah, I won (not by much, but I won)

Different front end, rear end, fenders, rear quarter pannels, spoiler, wheels, seats etc.

But yeah the EVO Xs look much closer to a basic New Lancer- Especially Ralliart.

They aren't that impressive stock from a roll. Modded is a different story, but so is the case for most cars, including our G8s

Very believable especially if he was stock with passengers from a roll. Also depends on the year Evo, stock they trap around 100-101mph for the older VIII's to the 105-106mph range for some of the IX's.

Definitely a different story with mods, even on the stock turbo. With less then $1k I ran a 12.3@108 and my fastest time with the stock turbo was a 11.3@121mph all with full interior, street tires, and stock internals.

Stock Evos aren't very fast at all. I beat a VIII MR from a 60 roll with my '04 A4 GTO which sucked from a roll. That said, I have a friend that has a 650+WHP evo that is stupid fast, and know they can be fast with basic bolt ons. But stock, they are unimpressive, especially from a roll.
