I've got a Faster Proms ported intake manifold and throttle body sitting here waiting to be installed, I was wondering if the gaskets are reusable, I can clearly see the throttle body gasket is, it just the manifold gasket itself I'm wondering about?

I'm new to the LS engines :angeldevil:

I'm also waiting for my Roto-Fab intake, HSRK, and VMS ECU/TCU tune via Flash Express. :headbang:

You didn't mess around Jordie. I'm unsure of the reuse on the gasket. Sorry.

If the gaskets are not pre-installed in the intake you can pick up a set or reuse if you have low miles

Just visually inspect the 8x intake manifold gaskets, look for any small tears or deformities. They're usually fine to re-use.

All the O ring material type gaskets are usually fine to re-use in LS series engines.

The only things you can't re-use would be head gaskets, exhaust manifold gaskets (shouldn't).
+ head bolts, crankshaft balancer bolt = [Torque To Yield (TTY)] bolts.

1600KM low enough lol

Thats what I though, I just wanted to make sure.

Thanks Guys!

Ohhh Torque specs?

Anyone? anyone? Buler?

I can't find the part numbers for the 8 O ring type material gaskets for the LS3 intake manifold. I can't find the LS3 intake manifold torque either.

Here's the sequence and tightening torques for an LS2 composite intake onto LS2 heads. LS3 intake onto L92 heads most likely isn't any different.

Note .....INCH POUNDS.....not foot pounds.

Haha 44 Foot Pounds into a plastic manifold, I'm sure someone has done it.
Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the info guys, the manifold swap was easy as can be.

Just for future FYI the intake gasket part numbers are 89017839, but you shouldn't need to replace them.

Excellent.
Do you have the tightening torque specs for the LS3 intake ?

Here is what I have.

Tighten
1. Tighten the intake manifold bolts (1-10) a first pass in sequence to 5 N·m (44 lb in).
2. Tighten the intake manifold bolts (1-10) a final pass in sequence to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

Thanks Greg.
Confirmed same torque as LS2 intake.

Thanks! They where in great shape, and with only 1700KM on them I should hope so. lol But they looks to be the type that will last a long wile.

Do you notice a difference with the porting?

With no other mods, it should be easy to tell.

Its a bit more punchy, nothing huge, but I didn;t expect a huge gain.
