Car has 6800 miles on it filled up yesterday was on the on ramp to interstate and reset. did not use cruise but maybe 1/4 the way, ran around 82mph the whole way when i got off the interstate 58 miles later I took this shot at the first red light.

note the mph avg. This is with DOD DELETED. Car has roto-fab, 160 t-stat, and a canned Intense Racing tune. Im going to turn my DOD back on and see what I can get out of this whore.

that is crazy. With my normal driving routine I almost never get over 20mpg. Of course, my average speed is under 30mph. Might have something to do with it :)

That's incredible for not having AFM working for you.

I get better mileage with DOD off, also. About 1mpg better. Hills have a lot to do with it I think. I'm getting 20mpg and that's only because I'm stuck in MoPac traffic for about 3/4 of the trip. Scared to think what I would get with an honest-to-God highway run and/or DOD actually tuned correctly.

80mph / 2k rpm definitely is a sweet spot. The beast just loafs, I don't know how else to describe it. I'll be swiftly passing by everyone, look down and say 'oh shit how the hell did that happen'. Five minutes later I'm right back at it. Car is nothing but trouble :)

Mine, whether after a few thousand or now at nearly 9k miles seems to continue doing great "around town" and in my general drives but still doesn't impress easily on highway drives. It's a bear, for some reason, to get even 23 cruising anywhere from 65-75mph on average and on flat, straight Delaware/eastern PA roads. VMS 93 tune, Roto-Fab, etc. and lots of AFM action.

I've been curious to try AFM off for a while, but as it's on so much of my daily driving (literally, the flat, straight 50mph cruises have me constantly in deactivated mode sometimes) and it does quite a bit of the same on the highway I've always thought it helped even without greatly impressive highway numbers. Over 20 highway but the struggle to break 23 so much still bothers me, given the tune and intake...time to play more perhaps, AFM and otherwise.

I'm with you. I only get 16.9 avg MPG but my average commute to work is about 25mph. :(

I'm jealous of the 27 MPG!!

What exactly is AFM?

Active Fuel Management.
It the system that makes a V-8 run on 4 cylinders.

I'm usually between 16.7-17.1 going to work with an avg. speed of about 23-24.Trying to get it above that, with no luck so far even if I stay off of the gas which is hard to do.

Yes, I have a hard time keeping it under 80 on the highway.

That number looks more like mine. I've noticed an improvement of about 1mpg (from 20.1 to 21ish) now that I am at 8k miles. I'm stock, though, and probably have an average speed of 45 mph (even after 300 mile trips every other weekend at 70+ mph).
