Please share what you have done to your V6's or some good ideas you may have.....looking to get some ideas for what to do next and these are the types of threads that spark my creativity!!

Apparently all we can do to our V6 to make it go faster is push the peddle harder? Is the cai and exhaust all we can do? I would have thought there would be a few more mods available by now. I understand they are just V6's but come on, these will out run some V8's already. Nothing wrong with tinkering to give it a little more, even with a V6.

The G6 GXP came with the LY7. Maybe some of the mods for it will work for yours.

My Roto-Fab CAI seems to have made it faster. I really haven't noticed a mpg gain.

There's an intake plenum available in AU for them. Claims a HELL of a increase in power.

I thought I read somewhere that they were going to develop a supercharger for the V6. Did I dream that or really read it?

Over a year ago I heard that but I don't think it ever happened.

I heard the same thing. Developed in OZ but there was some question on placement in the US version of the car. Had to do with clearence (Right hand vs. left hand steering) Crazy Paul would probably know.

It's really just a 3 step process:

1) remove 3.6L engine and set aside
2) insert 6.0L or 6.2L engine in big hole where 3.6L used to reside
3) turn egnition and enjoy!

I talked to a guy from Magnson superchargers out here and he said he was trying to sell the bussiness plan to his boss. Guess it never went thru as he never called me to use my car for the prototype.

It may be also due to the fact that no one has broken the code for tuning this thing. Our computer is completely different from every other LY7 version.

Someone find me a V6 so we can test!!! Tune is ready to go!

Since the V6 in the Camaro is Direct Injection versus Port Fuel Injection in the G8, why not mod the G8s LY7 into Direct Injection? V6 Camaro has over 300hp. It should do the same for the G8. What do ya'll think?

You would need a different block for that no?

I thought Camaro's V6 was the LY7 also. The only difference is the injection.

I stand corrected. I checked and they both have GM's High Feature V6. The Camaro is the LLT.

He's not one to rush to judgement. V6's are slower, you know.

From what I can gather there are only a few mods for the V6 Engine. 1.) CAI 2.) Possible Plenium changeout 3.) A possible tune 4.) Exhaust, but, I have not seen really anything available. 4) Spark plug change out??? But doubtful of benefits. Not much from what I can see.

Actually,it took just a couple of seconds. It just took 5 months to come across the post...lol.Back on subject(reality that is),the CPR6 intake manifold is something i'd like to see someone try on the G8.If I had an extra 2 grand for the 25 HP it's supposed to give you,i'd have it by now.Cat back exhaust, cold air intake, under drive pulley,cpr6 intake manifold with an insulater and a tune.High octane fuel and synthetic oil too, every little bit helps. And if you can keep your fat ass under 200 pounds that will help also.

Whatever. From my standpoint I am looking at costs vs. benefits. With a tune, CAI and plenium I would be happy with a 25hp gain. I know of only one (1) tune available for the V6. I do not think that there are any after market exhaust kits for the V6. Though I was told that the GT exhaust does fit. (Cannot confirm or deny this one.) And BTW my fat ass is under 200lbs. ( Don't know if that remark was aimed at me or not) I do love the freeflow of ideas and info on this forum.
